Monday

So, my tax-free weekend shopping was almost ruined by the fact that I went to the very crowded mall without the stroller! Camden tried to help me out with Rory, but she moves so fast and is all over the place (not to mention the fact that she screams every time he touches her)! We managed to make it through without losing her, and I found some really good deals.

Saturday night we went to a Sunday School picnic, and the kids had a BLAST. They played hard with the other kids.

Sunday was church and more church. Our air conditioning decided to freeze up and quit working so we spent a very warm afternoon. Thank goodness it came back on last night!

Brian is at in-service once again this morning. He isn't back to school full-time because classes don't start until Friday, but he's working the entire week at school trying to get his classroom ready. This is his first full school year, and he's a little overwhelmed!

I'm spending today and tomorrow getting ready for a consignment sale. I have bags and bags of clothing from last fall/winter to go through, iron, label, etc. It's very time consuming!

Blogging feels awkward these days. Not blogging feels a bit like abandoning an old friend. In this season of life it doesn't feel necessary to jot down every cute quip (and that's only partially because they don't say nearly as many cute things). The kiddos (even that is strange - can I still call a 12 and 9 year old kiddos?) are more likely to say "don't put that on your blog!" Rory still likes the attention, but Camden is feeling the need for privacy. But they also still love to read my words. Not a week goes by that they don't pull out blog books from previous years and pore over the pictures and words. Rory giggles and retells the stories; Camden quietly takes in the tougher subjects. Here's the truth. I have less to share because life is both busy and unexciting at the same time. Cousins, part 3 (the adult version)

So I'm notoriously bad about including adults in the picture when we're all together, and this trip was no exception. Here are the very few that include adults. Becky is always my test subject before the cousin photo shoots. At the baseball game (which was incredibly hot/humid and started nearly an hour late). Kids were pretty wiped out after their naps following the return from camp. 7/52: Pastel

This week's theme was pastel and there's not a whole lot of pastel in our house, much less with my black-eyed, black-haired Korean gal. However, she gave me about 10 minutes of cooperation in 10 degree weather and we attempted a pastel snow picture. The first one is my official pastel picture, but I included the other attempts because it was pretty darn fun. This is a new face I'm seeing often these days. By the way, she has 3 shirts underneath this dress, a pair of pajama pants and a pair of hot pink sweat pants. LOL
