5 Months

I couldn't let the day pass without mentioning that as of today, Rory has been with us for 5 months. When today ends, she will have been with us longer than anywhere else in her life. It breaks my heart to think of the many transitions she's had to make and the times she has had to start over in 22 months, but she's here for good - no more starting over.

Here is one of the first pictures we took of her minutes after meeting her.And here are several pictures from today. Are these two sweet or what?

She is so amazing! Congrats on the five months. It is amazing how time flies. It seems like yesterday we were both talking about how long the wait was to travel and now it has been five months for you and four months for us. Amazing!

My daughter and I are just sitting her looking at her pictures and Maddie says why is she Korea too? I said because she was adopted like Malia and she said well she sure is cute like Malia! So cute!

Blogging feels awkward these days. Not blogging feels a bit like abandoning an old friend. In this season of life it doesn't feel necessary to jot down every cute quip (and that's only partially because they don't say nearly as many cute things). The kiddos (even that is strange - can I still call a 12 and 9 year old kiddos?) are more likely to say "don't put that on your blog!" Rory still likes the attention, but Camden is feeling the need for privacy. But they also still love to read my words. Cousins, part 3 (the adult version)

So I'm notoriously bad about including adults in the picture when we're all together, and this trip was no exception. Here are the very few that include adults. Becky is always my test subject before the cousin photo shoots. At the baseball game (which was incredibly hot/humid and started nearly an hour late). Kids were pretty wiped out after their naps following the return from camp. 7/52: Pastel

This week's theme was pastel and there's not a whole lot of pastel in our house, much less with my black-eyed, black-haired Korean gal. However, she gave me about 10 minutes of cooperation in 10 degree weather and we attempted a pastel snow picture. The first one is my official pastel picture, but I included the other attempts because it was pretty darn fun. This is a new face I'm seeing often these days. By the way, she has 3 shirts underneath this dress, a pair of pajama pants and a pair of hot pink sweat pants. LOL
