Welcome to the rest of the world, Rory
Well, we took the plunge and released Rory to the public. Okay, not really the public, but we're now letting our family and friends hold Rory (I can already feel the rush of friends and family coming who have been waiting for this moment). Brian and I don't feel ready, but she is so we'll just have to deal with it. Micah and Becky were in Nashville for the weekend so we met them at SatCo for supper and a surprise birthday party. Rory thoroughly enjoyed meeting new family and friends and being passed around. She seems to seriously thrive on the attention. We're in big trouble if she stays this way as a teenager - she is such a flirt and show-off!
Before the party, we went to the Scholastic Book Fair that Brian gets access to because he's a teacher. It's always interesting when we go places like this, because people automatically assume that I'm the teacher instead of him. They tried to give me the registration paperwork and kept talking to me instead of him. It was pretty overwhelming - a whole warehouse full of books (in no particular order) all at least 30% off and most of them 50-80% off. Brian bought lots of books to stock his 4th grade classroom library and we bought a couple of books for the kiddos for their birthdays and even a couple of Christmas presents. We need to go with a plan the next time they have this, though, because the 45 minutes we spent there were not nearly enough.
Okay, here are the pictures. You've probably all just scrolled down without reading to see them anyway. I'm really pleased with the new lens. And, once again, I don't know why they lose their "sparkle" when I post them on the blog, but you can trust me that in real life the pictures are bright and clear!
