No, no, no
Yesterday Rory perfected the fine art of saying "no." So far she's not actually told us no as in refusing to do something, but she's learned to make her wishes known! She's also started doing this thing when we tell her no or that she can't do something. She crosses her arms, puts her head down, smooshes her face all together and walks off. We have to try really hard not to just laugh at her. The alternative to this is when she cries if she doesn't get her way, and then it goes on FOREVER and we're not laughing anymore! She's definitely a bit of a drama queen.
How sad is this. As a last -ditch effort to actually get Camden to eat supper (he fills up on all the Cheetos, snack cakes and junk food offered at school which drives me CRAZY), we offered Frosty's from Wendy's for everyone if we could all clean our plates. Well, it didn't work, of course. Now here's the sad part. Brian and I were arguing over who got to leave the house ALONE and get the Frosty's. The kids were having a rough night and not getting along at all. The noise level was ridiculous. I won the battle and got to have 15 blissful minutes of quiet in the car. Brian, however, had to stay with the kids and Rory was none to happy that I was gone.
Camden was telling us the story of the prodigal son this week, and all of a sudden he stopped and said, "Wait a minute! I got in front of myself." We love to have him tell us stories,. It's very interesting to get his perspective. We had a real eye opener a couple of weeks ago when we realized that he thought all the Bible stories we've been telling him and he's been learning at church and school were just stories and not true. Apparently we're failing as Christian parents. We did set him straight, and hopefully he's got it right now.
Here's a page I scrapped using a picture from Camden's 4th family day (March 23).
