Spring Break

Camden was out of school Friday for a teacher workday, and the kids played together SO well! I decided to take advantage of having a playmate for Rory around and spent most of the day Friday cleaning out their closets, organizing them, switching out their winter clothes with spring/summer wardrobes. This, of course, guaranteed high temperatures in the 40's all weekend continuing into today. One of these years I'll learn to not rush spring.

Saturday was another quiet day at home and actually quite relaxing. We played unending eventful games of Sorry, made chocolate chip cookies, watched The Black Stallion and just had a nice, quiet day at home (which involved lots of scrapping for me).

Brian's spring break started today so I was able to grocery shop and make a Target run ALONE! Brian stayed home with Rory, made her an omelet for breakfast (she's lucky to get cereal if I'm in charge), and played many Dora games. Poor Camden had to go to school. It stinks that their spring breaks don't fall on the same week, but Brian plans to pick up Camden early from school one day to go fishing.

Blogging feels awkward these days. Not blogging feels a bit like abandoning an old friend. In this season of life it doesn't feel necessary to jot down every cute quip (and that's only partially because they don't say nearly as many cute things). The kiddos (even that is strange - can I still call a 12 and 9 year old kiddos?) are more likely to say "don't put that on your blog!" Rory still likes the attention, but Camden is feeling the need for privacy. But they also still love to read my words. Not a week goes by that they don't pull out blog books from previous years and pore over the pictures and words. Rory giggles and retells the stories; Camden quietly takes in the tougher subjects. Cousins, part 3 (the adult version)

So I'm notoriously bad about including adults in the picture when we're all together, and this trip was no exception. Here are the very few that include adults. Becky is always my test subject before the cousin photo shoots. At the baseball game (which was incredibly hot/humid and started nearly an hour late). Kids were pretty wiped out after their naps following the return from camp. 7/52: Pastel

This week's theme was pastel and there's not a whole lot of pastel in our house, much less with my black-eyed, black-haired Korean gal. However, she gave me about 10 minutes of cooperation in 10 degree weather and we attempted a pastel snow picture. The first one is my official pastel picture, but I included the other attempts because it was pretty darn fun. This is a new face I'm seeing often these days. By the way, she has 3 shirts underneath this dress, a pair of pajama pants and a pair of hot pink sweat pants. LOL
