Catching Up. . . . .

It's been so long since I really blogged I don't really know where to start, so I think you'll just get the abbreviated version.

Friday night our friends came over, and the kids had so much fun playing. Camden would "play" the piano and Emily would dance ballet. Emily would "play" the piano for him, and he would dance (not sure what style!). Rory was pretty infatuated with Andrew, the baby. She thought he was a doll and kept trying to pick him up and give him the pacifier. It was so cute!

Saturday we had pictures with Angie, I had a manicure, pedicure and haircut, which was fun. My parents arrived Saturday night and stayed until Wednesday morning. Camden especially enjoyed himself with Grandpa, who played endless games of softball with him. We went to the park on Monday, to Opry Mills on Tuesday. Wednesday was Rory's doctor's appointment.

Our church had a shower for Rory, and it was so fun. She loved opening the presents and showing everyone the pretty dresses and toys. I think her favorite was the cute little apron she received and the camera. She walked around saying, "cheese" all afternoon. My favorite gift was the spa gift card I received from my friends Shelly and Mayme.

Rory and I made a trip to the grocery store this morning, and I want to try to start getting this house back in order this afternoon. Brian is off work tomorrow, and we're all very excited about that! If it's nice, we might try a trip to the zoo.

And that's the last 6 days in a nutshell.

Ok, so how to you decide which of the pictures to choose? I hope you have a special budget set up just for pictures of the kids. Missed walking with you this week, maybe next week!

Blogging feels awkward these days. Not blogging feels a bit like abandoning an old friend. In this season of life it doesn't feel necessary to jot down every cute quip (and that's only partially because they don't say nearly as many cute things). The kiddos (even that is strange - can I still call a 12 and 9 year old kiddos?) are more likely to say "don't put that on your blog!" Rory still likes the attention, but Camden is feeling the need for privacy. But they also still love to read my words. Cousins, part 3 (the adult version)

So I'm notoriously bad about including adults in the picture when we're all together, and this trip was no exception. Here are the very few that include adults. Becky is always my test subject before the cousin photo shoots. At the baseball game (which was incredibly hot/humid and started nearly an hour late). Kids were pretty wiped out after their naps following the return from camp. 7/52: Pastel

This week's theme was pastel and there's not a whole lot of pastel in our house, much less with my black-eyed, black-haired Korean gal. However, she gave me about 10 minutes of cooperation in 10 degree weather and we attempted a pastel snow picture. The first one is my official pastel picture, but I included the other attempts because it was pretty darn fun. This is a new face I'm seeing often these days. By the way, she has 3 shirts underneath this dress, a pair of pajama pants and a pair of hot pink sweat pants. LOL
