Five Things

1. Rory told me at lunch yesterday that "Spwite is clear and sizzles in my mouth." And, no, she wasn't having Sprite.

2. If you're a coffee lover and don't have a Moka Pot, you SO need one.

3. After spending 9 years with American Idol on Tuesday nights, I decided I was done. But then I gave in, watched last night, and I'm hooked again.

4. Brian read the story of Abraham and Isaac in Genesis 22 earlier this week when God asks Abraham to sacrifice Isaac, and he said to Camden, "just not sure I could do that, buddy." To which Camden immediately replied, "just not sure I could let you."

5. Hello, Snow Day #6 since January 3.


Finally scrapping snow day pictures from last January. Wonder when I'll get around to this year's pictures.

If you like American Idol, I'd wager to say you'd also like So You Think You Can Dance. Same producers, better talent, IMO.

Blogging feels awkward these days. Not blogging feels a bit like abandoning an old friend. In this season of life it doesn't feel necessary to jot down every cute quip (and that's only partially because they don't say nearly as many cute things). The kiddos (even that is strange - can I still call a 12 and 9 year old kiddos?) are more likely to say "don't put that on your blog!" Rory still likes the attention, but Camden is feeling the need for privacy. But they also still love to read my words. Not a week goes by that they don't pull out blog books from previous years and pore over the pictures and words. Rory giggles and retells the stories; Camden quietly takes in the tougher subjects. Cousins, part 3 (the adult version)

So I'm notoriously bad about including adults in the picture when we're all together, and this trip was no exception. Here are the very few that include adults. Becky is always my test subject before the cousin photo shoots. At the baseball game (which was incredibly hot/humid and started nearly an hour late). Kids were pretty wiped out after their naps following the return from camp. 7/52: Pastel

This week's theme was pastel and there's not a whole lot of pastel in our house, much less with my black-eyed, black-haired Korean gal. However, she gave me about 10 minutes of cooperation in 10 degree weather and we attempted a pastel snow picture. The first one is my official pastel picture, but I included the other attempts because it was pretty darn fun. This is a new face I'm seeing often these days. By the way, she has 3 shirts underneath this dress, a pair of pajama pants and a pair of hot pink sweat pants. LOL
