Tuesday's Tidbits
Becky's boys, William and Xavier, call each other "bro." It is SO stinkin' cute, and ever since we visited them in Oklahoma this summer, Rory has been calling Camden "bro" off and on. For some reason, it drives. him. insane. As you can imagine, that doesn't stop her at all.
I made an offhand remark to Brian to the effect of how all I do is tell the kids to get their fingers out of their mouth (seriously, does anyone else do this?) when Rory responded, "well . . . . . you also take beautiful pictures of us too." Smart aleck.
Camden has been writing different kinds of sentences in 3rd grade; last week was exclamatory sentences. His was, "Eeek! I saw a yucky mouse!" I don't know why that made us laugh so hard, but it did.

Despite the fact that it was in the mid-90's all last week, I decided to force fall upon our household by pulling out my Sweet Cinnamon candles from Bath and Body Works. It must have worked because our weather has been beautiful and fall-like for the past several days.
So you all know I love Starbucks, and my all-time favorite is the Salted Caramel Mocha that somehow is not a regular item but just seasonal. Unfortunately, I'm not in the vicinity of a Starbucks on a daily basis (although that's probably a good thing) but when I saw the Salted Caramel Hot Cocoa mix at Target last week, you better believe I snatched it right up in anticipation of fall. Since our high was in the 70's the last couple of days, I decided it was time to pull it out, and it is insanely delicious!
You know I had chemo on Thursday, then that darn Neulasta shot on Friday which means that I was pretty sick over the weekend. As usual, my insurance company was giving me fits over filling one of my anti-nausea meds so I called my handy brother-in-law who is nearly a doctor (and he called his dad who *is* a doctor) and they said I could up the dose on the one anti-nausea medicine I had left. Let me just say that it knocked. me. out. It was the strangest day because I felt like it passed in such a haze. Rory and I were alone at home, and we laid on the couch watching Say Yes to the Dress and Pioneer Woman.
To finish the story - I found a new bottle of my nausea meds in my purse. Apparently, I'd already filled it, which was why the insurance company wouldn't approve another bottle. Chemo brain.
The look they insisted on for this week's picture.

(And, Blake always has her hands in her mouth---so gross....)
gives me such a lift!
You are so fresh and original!
Thank you for sharing.
I hope you're feeling better and getting lots of rest!
We tried other drugs, but the Zofran works the best and fastest.
This past year and now with the new year ahead, this new insurance allows me to get 90 pills per month for ONE co-pay. I don't have to use it three times a day anymore, but I kept having it refilled because we weren't sure what the hubs company was going to do with the health insurance.
What is up with that? They want me to order a 90-day of some of my meds from THEIR mail-order pharmacy of choice. I did a price check on what it would cost me locally, and the difference was 4.25 PER PILL on one script! As in that big store that starts with W wanted .75 cents per pill and their mail-order wanted to charge me $5.00 a pill!
Come on fall!
