Surprise Party Pics

So I totally dropped the ball on the pictures for Becky's party. It was so busy actually working the party plus the fun part of catching up with friends that I did a bad job of capturing the party. I know there were several of us snapping pictures so hopefully we got enough to remember the day.

One funny thing. So Micah contacted me and Kari (our college friend and Becky's college roommate) about planning this party back in January. He gave us aliases so that when we called, Dr. Joe Johnson and Dr. Pedro Ramirez popped up on his phone - Becky never knew that we were constantly in contact with Micah.

The party planners.

So we drove 11 hours Friday and then 11 hours home on Monday, and this girl right here was an angel. I think she cried once on the road. I am not kidding. An angel.

Micah had Becky blindfolded; we were all waiting at his parent's house.

The ugly cry. We were all joining in.

Lots and lots of hugs.

Becky hugging Liz (and Addison). I think my dad's face behind them is a pretty good representation of how we all felt.

Family and Friends surprised her at 2:00. Later on in the evening, lots of local friends dropped by for dessert. Camden and Rory made their own signs. Making a sign for Becky was the first thing Camden wanted to do when we first told him about the weekend; I thought it was so sweet.

There was a group of approximately 12-15 kiddos, and they played so hard all afternoon in the sweltering 105 degree heat. Brian set up a hand-washing station for them before dinner.

Kari did a great job decorating, but it was so stinkin' hot and windy that we ended up setting up the the food inside and not getting to take advantage of all the cute decorations.

Hard to see because of the harsh sunlight but it says Becky Bash (which was our secret email address and party planning name).

Our dessert menu was amazing: chocolate chip cookies, chocolate chip cookie dough cupcakes, snickers cupcakes, strawberry cupcakes, chocolate cheesecake, homemade caramels, red velvet cupcakes. YUM!

This picture just cracks me up. This is Becky's surgeon; she recently bought a big girl camera, and we had so much fun chatting about photography. Let's just say that she's had a camera for 2 months, and she's already advanced past me.

Love this one of Becky and her chemo nurse.

I think no explanation is needed for this group ;)

It was so hot that all babies were immediately stripped down to diapers.

The following morning, several of us met for breakfast.

Wow, what a wonderful party, wonderful family and fantastic photos. I totally agree with a prior poster -- the fact that her oncologist, surgeon and chemo nurse came to the party speaks to how special your sister must be (and to what wonderful medical providers she had!). I have no doubt you are as special to your doctors. It is pretty obvious, even over the Internet, that your family is extra special.
