Where's the Camera?

One of these days, I'm going to stop asking this question because without fail, she points at the camera instead of looking at it. :)

We're having a slow week, although having Monday off has thrown us off and it doesn't seem possible that this week is almost over already. Rory and I went to "story library time" yesterday and church last night which represent our big outings for the week. I told you it was a slow week!

And a quick Rory story. She's used the words terrific, pitiful, and appropriate this week - all in the wrong context, but it's really funny to hear her use big words.

I've been using "is there a bug on my forehead" lately for just this reason. Sigh.

LOL! I tried the "What's on my head" line with mine and, sure enough, in every photo they are staring at the top of my head with a perplexed look on their faces! So now I get no pictures AND they think Mommy's crazy!

Blogging feels awkward these days. Not blogging feels a bit like abandoning an old friend. In this season of life it doesn't feel necessary to jot down every cute quip (and that's only partially because they don't say nearly as many cute things). The kiddos (even that is strange - can I still call a 12 and 9 year old kiddos?) are more likely to say "don't put that on your blog!" Rory still likes the attention, but Camden is feeling the need for privacy. But they also still love to read my words. Cousins, part 3 (the adult version)

So I'm notoriously bad about including adults in the picture when we're all together, and this trip was no exception. Here are the very few that include adults. Becky is always my test subject before the cousin photo shoots. At the baseball game (which was incredibly hot/humid and started nearly an hour late). Kids were pretty wiped out after their naps following the return from camp. (the adult who spent a week at camp might have been tired too) Camden had the camera and took these pictures of me and Becky, Liz, and mom. Lewis/Hale/Derby/Lemons family - you're all caught up!

7/52: Pastel

This week's theme was pastel and there's not a whole lot of pastel in our house, much less with my black-eyed, black-haired Korean gal. However, she gave me about 10 minutes of cooperation in 10 degree weather and we attempted a pastel snow picture. The first one is my official pastel picture, but I included the other attempts because it was pretty darn fun. This is a new face I'm seeing often these days. By the way, she has 3 shirts underneath this dress, a pair of pajama pants and a pair of hot pink sweat pants. LOL
