We watched the season premiere of Amazing Race Sunday night, and for one of their challenges, the teams had to eat a Chinese dessert: frog fallopian tubes. I guess just one more reason to be happy I was born in the USA. We get to eat ice cream and chocolate for dessert instead of froggie fallopian tubes.

For all of you who have asked, I did not make Rory's birthday cake. I must have seriously misrepresented myself if you think I'm capable of that much decorating!

My brain is kind of overwhelmed with news, but most of it is confidential so I guess I'll have to be satisfied with keeping it to myself.

I have not been very good at snapping pictures the last few days, but here are two.

There is not much sweeter than a baby who wakes up happy. They don't seem to take much notice of the gray, dreary days.

Blogging feels awkward these days. Not blogging feels a bit like abandoning an old friend. In this season of life it doesn't feel necessary to jot down every cute quip (and that's only partially because they don't say nearly as many cute things). The kiddos (even that is strange - can I still call a 12 and 9 year old kiddos?) are more likely to say "don't put that on your blog!" Rory still likes the attention, but Camden is feeling the need for privacy. But they also still love to read my words. Cousins, part 3 (the adult version)

So I'm notoriously bad about including adults in the picture when we're all together, and this trip was no exception. Here are the very few that include adults. Becky is always my test subject before the cousin photo shoots. At the baseball game (which was incredibly hot/humid and started nearly an hour late). Kids were pretty wiped out after their naps following the return from camp. (the adult who spent a week at camp might have been tired too) Camden had the camera and took these pictures of me and Becky, Liz, and mom. Lewis/Hale/Derby/Lemons family - you're all caught up!

7/52: Pastel

This week's theme was pastel and there's not a whole lot of pastel in our house, much less with my black-eyed, black-haired Korean gal. However, she gave me about 10 minutes of cooperation in 10 degree weather and we attempted a pastel snow picture. The first one is my official pastel picture, but I included the other attempts because it was pretty darn fun. This is a new face I'm seeing often these days. By the way, she has 3 shirts underneath this dress, a pair of pajama pants and a pair of hot pink sweat pants. LOL
