My top 10 favorite things of the 2010 Christmas Week
 
10. The food at the Lewis/Hale/Derby Christmas never disappoints.

9. The fact that we were snowed in Sunday which meant we had a quiet day to unwind when all our company left.

8. Watching William and Xavier's Christmas program. There's a whole lotta personality in those two! (click here for a small sampling)

7. The excellent coffee. Does that fall under the food category?

6. Camden and Rory's expressions when they opened a "pink weapster" (for Rory) and a DS (for Camden).

5. The Italian Drip-Beef sandwiches. Yes, it falls under the food category, but Brian says the sandwiches must have their own space in the list.
 
4. The many hours spent playing Sequence. The girls totally rule.
 
3. The poem Brian wrote for me (it made Becky and my dad cry so you know it was good).  

2. This picture.

1. The sweet time we had on Christmas Day reading Luke 2 and singing Christmas carols.

And let me just leave you with my favorite picture of the entire Christmas week. Rory's wearing her Super Girl costume (from Aunt Becky) and they're both playing with their new "Weapster" and DS.

Blogging feels awkward these days. Not blogging feels a bit like abandoning an old friend. In this season of life it doesn't feel necessary to jot down every cute quip (and that's only partially because they don't say nearly as many cute things). The kiddos (even that is strange - can I still call a 12 and 9 year old kiddos?) are more likely to say "don't put that on your blog!" Rory still likes the attention, but Camden is feeling the need for privacy. But they also still love to read my words. Not a week goes by that they don't pull out blog books from previous years and pore over the pictures and words. Rory giggles and retells the stories; Camden quietly takes in the tougher subjects. Cousins, part 3 (the adult version)

So I'm notoriously bad about including adults in the picture when we're all together, and this trip was no exception. Here are the very few that include adults. Becky is always my test subject before the cousin photo shoots. At the baseball game (which was incredibly hot/humid and started nearly an hour late). Kids were pretty wiped out after their naps following the return from camp. (the adult who spent a week at camp might have been tired too) Camden had the camera and took these pictures of me and Becky, Liz, and mom. Lewis/Hale/Derby/Lemons family - you're all caught up!

7/52: Pastel

This week's theme was pastel and there's not a whole lot of pastel in our house, much less with my black-eyed, black-haired Korean gal. However, she gave me about 10 minutes of cooperation in 10 degree weather and we attempted a pastel snow picture. The first one is my official pastel picture, but I included the other attempts because it was pretty darn fun. This is a new face I'm seeing often these days. By the way, she has 3 shirts underneath this dress, a pair of pajama pants and a pair of hot pink sweat pants. LOL
