Christmas Eve

I wasn't planning to share more Christmas pictures, but I found these from Christmas Eve and decided there was no choice but to post them.

Mom brought her famous sugar cookies to ice and decorate and let the kids help out. She enlisted Dad's help. The kids had a blast although I'm pretty sure Mom and Dad were ready to just call it a day and go to bed when they finished.

Our tradition for Christmas Eve is to attend a Christmas Eve service and then come home for appetizers. Because of freezing rain, we had to skip the service, but appetizers were definitely still on the agenda. I actually have food pictures, but thought I'd spare you all the details.

The group. Notice the Sequence game already on the table. The theme for the week during each meal was to let the kids eat on a blanket in the living room with a Christmas-themed TV show while the adults ate at the table and played Sequence.

Mom and Dad always read to the kids at bedtime. Apparently, mom and Camden thought something was really funny.

So much fun! I love the idea of kids eating on blankets while adults enjoy the table and a game. And poor Uncle Michael... I can imagine that xmas is NOT the UPS folks' favorite time of year.

I don't know if you and Brian are planning on adopting again, but if you decide to...will you adopt me and Mitchell, at least during Christmas? :) Seriously, every year when I read your's and Becky's Christmas posts I get so jealous. You guys look like you have the best time together and the food always looks amazing!!

Blogging feels awkward these days. Not blogging feels a bit like abandoning an old friend. In this season of life it doesn't feel necessary to jot down every cute quip (and that's only partially because they don't say nearly as many cute things). The kiddos (even that is strange - can I still call a 12 and 9 year old kiddos?) are more likely to say "don't put that on your blog!" Cousins, part 3 (the adult version)

So I'm notoriously bad about including adults in the picture when we're all together, and this trip was no exception. Here are the very few that include adults. Becky is always my test subject before the cousin photo shoots. At the baseball game (which was incredibly hot/humid and started nearly an hour late). Kids were pretty wiped out after their naps following the return from camp. 7/52: Pastel

This week's theme was pastel and there's not a whole lot of pastel in our house, much less with my black-eyed, black-haired Korean gal. However, she gave me about 10 minutes of cooperation in 10 degree weather and we attempted a pastel snow picture. The first one is my official pastel picture, but I included the other attempts because it was pretty darn fun. This is a new face I'm seeing often these days. By the way, she has 3 shirts underneath this dress, a pair of pajama pants and a pair of hot pink sweat pants. LOL
