Not Cautious Anymore
Nope, not cautiously optimistic anymore. We're just plain optimistic.
The nurse called late this afternoon to let me know that my CA125 was 14 and that they'd see me in 2 months. Two whole months of freedom. It's kind of hard to take in to be honest. Doesn't stop us from celebrating with ice cream, though. :)
My mom was here with me which was fabulous. She immediately texted my dad who decided he just couldn't stay at work any longer and stopped off for Chinese food and ice cream. We've been texting and calling and emailing friends and family for the last several hours. I've learned to take each day as it comes so I wasn't necessarily expecting bad or good news, but the good news is most certainly welcome. I cried. I probably would have held it together if the news were bad, but the good news kinda did me in.
I've been memorizing Psalm 121 this week, and it came to mind immediately.
I lift my eyes toward the mountains.
Where will my help come from?
My help comes from the Lord,
the Maker of heaven and earth.
He will not allow your foot to slip; your Protector will not slumber.
He will not allow your foot to slip; your Protector will not slumber.
Indeed, the Protector of Israel
does not slumber or sleep.
The Lord protects you; the Lord is a shelter right by your side.
The Lord protects you; the Lord is a shelter right by your side.
The sun will not strike you by day
or the moon by night.
The Lord will protect you from all harm; He will protect your life.
The Lord will protect you from all harm; He will protect your life.
The Lord will protect your coming and going
both now and forever.
