A New Bag

It has been an embarrassingly long time since I bought a new purse (I am a girl, right?). Seriously, probably over a year. Not that I've been carrying the same bag, but still! Anyway, I finally used my birthday gift card (from all the way back in November) and picked up this cute Vera Bradley hobo bag.

We went for a walk before supper last night. Camden was so funny telling us all about his day. His new best friend at his new school is Anne-Katherine (it's quite funny to hear him say that over and over cause he gets stuck sometimes!). What's unique is that Anne-Katherine is adopted from China, and Camden's best friend at his other school was Ashley, also adopted from China. They're the only Asian children in the entire school. Today is swim day, so I'm sure he'll come home with lots of new stories.

Brian's grandpa is having open heart surgery today. His heart was almost completely blocked, and it's a miracle he was even alive and doing fairly well. We are anxiously awaiting word on how the surgery went.

I can't believe I forgot to mention this yesterday, but I'm working with Christina Renee this month, and it's so fun! (See her blog here). I'm sure you're going to see lots of pages using her designs. And, speaking of pages - here are two from the weekend.

Blogging feels awkward these days. Not blogging feels a bit like abandoning an old friend. In this season of life it doesn't feel necessary to jot down every cute quip (and that's only partially because they don't say nearly as many cute things). The kiddos (even that is strange - can I still call a 12 and 9 year old kiddos?) are more likely to say "don't put that on your blog!" Rory still likes the attention, but Camden is feeling the need for privacy. But they also still love to read my words. Cousins, part 3 (the adult version)

So I'm notoriously bad about including adults in the picture when we're all together, and this trip was no exception. Here are the very few that include adults. Becky is always my test subject before the cousin photo shoots. At the baseball game (which was incredibly hot/humid and started nearly an hour late). Kids were pretty wiped out after their naps following the return from camp. 7/52: Pastel

This week's theme was pastel and there's not a whole lot of pastel in our house, much less with my black-eyed, black-haired Korean gal. However, she gave me about 10 minutes of cooperation in 10 degree weather and we attempted a pastel snow picture. The first one is my official pastel picture, but I included the other attempts because it was pretty darn fun. This is a new face I'm seeing often these days. By the way, she has 3 shirts underneath this dress, a pair of pajama pants and a pair of hot pink sweat pants. LOL
