Happy Halloween 2010

Brian took the kids to Gram and Gramp's house for a cupcake and treats and then did a quick swing by a local church for Trunk or Treat. Unfortunately, Rory was scared out of her mind and hated it, although Brian and I are both inclined to believe it's because I was unable to go with them. In fact, Brian said she was begging to come home as soon as they left the house despite the fact she'd been looking forward to it all day. She said the clowns (which she HATED) just made her miss mommy.

And the obligatory pics. Sorry there are none of them in action, but Brian is allergic to my camera these days. :) Plus, I guess he did have both kids to keep his hands full.

By the way, anyone remember this from last year (you have to scroll down to see the picture - you'll know which one when you get there)? The smooshed face in the helmet seems to be a theme for him. And I also find it totally funny that I said last year we don't really do Halloween. Apparently, we change our minds about that from year to year.

Let's just call halloween what it is: an excuse to dress our kids up in cute costumes and use purple on a layout. Don't feel guilty about that, girl. ; )

Blogging feels awkward these days. Not blogging feels a bit like abandoning an old friend. In this season of life it doesn't feel necessary to jot down every cute quip (and that's only partially because they don't say nearly as many cute things). The kiddos (even that is strange - can I still call a 12 and 9 year old kiddos?) are more likely to say "don't put that on your blog!" Rory still likes the attention, but Camden is feeling the need for privacy. But they also still love to read my words. Cousins, part 3 (the adult version)

So I'm notoriously bad about including adults in the picture when we're all together, and this trip was no exception. Here are the very few that include adults. Becky is always my test subject before the cousin photo shoots. At the baseball game (which was incredibly hot/humid and started nearly an hour late). Kids were pretty wiped out after their naps following the return from camp. 7/52: Pastel

This week's theme was pastel and there's not a whole lot of pastel in our house, much less with my black-eyed, black-haired Korean gal. However, she gave me about 10 minutes of cooperation in 10 degree weather and we attempted a pastel snow picture. The first one is my official pastel picture, but I included the other attempts because it was pretty darn fun. This is a new face I'm seeing often these days. By the way, she has 3 shirts underneath this dress, a pair of pajama pants and a pair of hot pink sweat pants. LOL
