Lunch with Daddy

I feel as if I should explain that Rory did not escape the house on her own. There was a little aiding and abetting by her brother who took it upon himself to give her permission to play outside and then opened the door for her. Thank you, Camden.

I've spent the last 36 hours with a little stomach bug, but am hoping to be better today. Rory and I are running a few errands that I've been putting off for weeks and we're also meeting Brian at school for lunch although whether or not I actually eat lunch remains to be seen. Brian's been gone until bedtime nearly every night this week because of parent/teacher conferences, and the kids aren't taking it well. Thus, lunch in a 4th grade school room today.

Hmmm... while I feel better for you, I feel worse for me. Spencer's totally attempted break outs here. I was kinda hoping it wasn't just my kid!LOL.

Oooh, that's rough about Brian's parent-teacher conferences. That makes for long days for everyone :(
So, if Camden aided and abetted, who do you punish? :)

Blogging feels awkward these days. Not blogging feels a bit like abandoning an old friend. In this season of life it doesn't feel necessary to jot down every cute quip (and that's only partially because they don't say nearly as many cute things). The kiddos (even that is strange - can I still call a 12 and 9 year old kiddos?) are more likely to say "don't put that on your blog!" Rory still likes the attention, but Camden is feeling the need for privacy. But they also still love to read my words. Cousins, part 3 (the adult version)

So I'm notoriously bad about including adults in the picture when we're all together, and this trip was no exception. Here are the very few that include adults. Becky is always my test subject before the cousin photo shoots. At the baseball game (which was incredibly hot/humid and started nearly an hour late). Kids were pretty wiped out after their naps following the return from camp. (the adult who spent a week at camp might have been tired too) Camden had the camera and took these pictures of me and Becky, Liz, and mom. Lewis/Hale/Derby/Lemons family - you're all caught up!

7/52: Pastel

This week's theme was pastel and there's not a whole lot of pastel in our house, much less with my black-eyed, black-haired Korean gal. However, she gave me about 10 minutes of cooperation in 10 degree weather and we attempted a pastel snow picture. The first one is my official pastel picture, but I included the other attempts because it was pretty darn fun. This is a new face I'm seeing often these days. By the way, she has 3 shirts underneath this dress, a pair of pajama pants and a pair of hot pink sweat pants. LOL
