Let's Play Ball

Last night was Camden's first baseball practice, and to say he was excited would be an understatement. He's kind of a talker anyway, but when he's nervous or excited, he really talks so we heard all about it for hours before practice. Brian said he did a really good job of listening to the coach and a good job with everything he was teaching them. Actually, his exact words were, "either our team is sorry or Camden is way ahead of the curve." Seriously, Camden has looked forward to this day as long as he was even aware of sports - his favorite toy has been a ball from the time he came home at 8 months old, and he's wanted to play baseball since he was 2! One funny moment at practice is that he was very concerned with keeping his bat clean, and the coach kept drawing a line in the dirt so he would know where to stand at bat. Brian said Camden kept wiping off his bat before he'd get ready to hit. Yeah, that's pretty much been the same since he was a baby too! I snapped a quick picture as he was leaving - he's so handsome (and big!) these days.
Rory's got her own accomplishments these days. She came running into the room the other day and said, "I do it myself!" She sure did! Obviously, the shirt is a little wonky, and notice the inside out and backwards pants. So cute!

And she has literally spent hours, HOURS I tell you climbing up onto this rubbermaid and into the laundry basket. Camden used to love (and still does sometimes) to play in the laundry baskets, but Rory's little legs aren't quite long enough to climb into them until she discovered she could use the rubbermaid to climb into the basket. This little game has seriously entertained her all week long. Unfortunately, the rubbermaid is going to the consignment store today. I might have to find another one just to keep the game going. The climb is accompanied by a "look at me, mommy" every single time!

climbing . . .

almost there. . .
made it!
While watching American Idol last night, Rory started giggling and said, "mommy, she shakin' her booty." And she kinda was. Oh, Rory who is TWO also said to me, "I give up naps, mommy" as I was putting her down for a nap yesterday. Ummmm, I don't think so!

Brian's spring break starts at 3:15 this afternoon when the buses leave school so you can imagine he's quite excited. We're trying to ignore the fact that there is rain in our forecast for the next 7 days.

Our plans for this weekend are pretty slow. The kids and I are running to the consignment store to drop off some of Camden's clothes, to the library to drop off some books, to the grocery store to pick up some meat that's on sale, and then Camden has baseball practice Saturday evening, and church on Sunday. I happen to be one of the few people ready for the time change - it's full daylight at 6 a.m. and my kiddos are getting up earlier and earlier. Hopefully, the time change is going to help!

That's a great shot of Camden- he's radiating excitement! And, as always, Rory's antics crack me up!

My kids' favorite 'toy' is a box of diapers! Who knew the fun you could have? :)

Hope you all enjoy spring break - hopefully it won't rain everyday!

Such cute pictures! I, too, am looking forward to the time change. Must be something about the little ones!
