Coming Home

Okay, one more Rory post. :) Here's our coming home video from March 1, 2008.

I've spent alot of time thinking this week about the last year of our lives. It has been the biggest transition Brian and I have ever gone through. Going from a family of 3 to a family of 4; going from being a working mom to a stay at home mom; having Brian go from one job to two jobs and then changing jobs. Nothing can prepare you for adoption until you experience it, and nothing can prepare you for toddler adoption until you experience it. When we think about the tiny little girl we met in Korea to the vivacious, big girl we have now, we know that we are so blessed. Our adjustment has been harder than I anticipated, but I feel that we're in a very good place now. From a 17 month old who clung to me and screamed if anyone else approached her then moving to wanting everyone else except me to finally settling in and being a mommy's girl - it's been alot of transition! We're still working on eye contact, and she is not a cuddler or very affectionate, and I haven't quite figured out if it's her age and personality or if she is still holding back a bit, but she definitely loves us, and we are all in love with her.
