Wednesday update
Dear friends of Melissa,
This is Melissa's sister Becky updating her blog. I wanted so much to be able to bring the best news from today, but unfortunately, we did not get the report from her surgery that we were wanting. The surgery was much more extensive than they had originally planned and they have given her a diagnosis of stage 3 ovarian cancer. The surgeons were able to remove the majority of the cancer and encouraged us that our immediate focus is to get her recovered from this surgery and then we will look ahead to treatment plans. While we are most assuredly disappointed, we know that God is good. Please continue to pray for her, for Brian and their family. Right now, we are simply waiting to even see her. Pray for Brian as he shares the results from the surgery and that somehow they would be able to rest tonight. I will try to update again tomorrow.
Thank you so much for your prayers and love for Melissa and her family. They are precious to us.

Just want you both to know that we are praying for you here in Panama. You don't know us, but we're Michael Lytle's parents, and we went to FWBBC with Bob and Brenda in the early 1970s. I just found out you (Melissa) were Becky's sister. Anyway, you are loved, and lots of people are lifting you up to the Throne. He is our all in all.
I have been following your blog for a while now ... I found it somehow in the "adoption world." I have never commented on your blog before, but I wanted to let you know I feel like I know you and your family through your posts and I will be praying for you. I was an oncology nurse turned stay-at-home, and I've seen success stories. This can be beaten. Many hugs and prayers, Carrie
I miss your blog entries but I hope you are resting.
You are so very covered in prayer.

I have been reading your blog for a while now and I am so sad to hear of your diagnosis. Take time to rest and process the news, then get ready to fight and get rid of this cancer! 10 years ago my Mom was also diagnosed with Stage 3 ovarian cancer and today, she's in the best shape of her life. Please hang on to such success stories and know that we're all pulling for you. Prayers are being sent yo you and your entire family.
