A New Week

I need to brag on Camden a little bit. We've had a rough time with him ever since Rory came home. It's been a big adjustment for him to not be the only child anymore, but I think we maybe reached a turning point this past week. He had many moments of sweetness towards Rory, and there were times each day that they played together and I heard lots of giggles. It was definitely the best week we've had with the two of them. I'm hopeful that it wasn't a fluke and that it will continue! Not that things are perfect. I mean, she's a toddler and he's almost 5 so they can't live in complete harmony, but it was much better!

Rory was a little thrown off by our church schedule this weekend and by being in the nursery more often than usual so I ended up staying with her Saturday night, Sunday morning, and Sunday night, so I feel like all I did all weekend was sit in the nursery! It's worth it if it will make her feel more secure. She and Camden both have been a bit cranky because of the later nights, but our schedule should be normal this week and they'll get back on track.

Not much else to share today. I'm headed off to walk with Mayme, and then will get started on laundry left over from the weekend when I get back. Brian is very busy getting ready for VBS, and he also has 2 days of in-service at school this week.

Blogging feels awkward these days. Not blogging feels a bit like abandoning an old friend. In this season of life it doesn't feel necessary to jot down every cute quip (and that's only partially because they don't say nearly as many cute things). The kiddos (even that is strange - can I still call a 12 and 9 year old kiddos?) are more likely to say "don't put that on your blog!" Rory still likes the attention, but Camden is feeling the need for privacy. But they also still love to read my words. Not a week goes by that they don't pull out blog books from previous years and pore over the pictures and words. Rory giggles and retells the stories; Camden quietly takes in the tougher subjects. Here's the truth. I have less to share because life is both busy and unexciting at the same time. Cousins, part 3 (the adult version)

So I'm notoriously bad about including adults in the picture when we're all together, and this trip was no exception. Here are the very few that include adults. Becky is always my test subject before the cousin photo shoots. At the baseball game (which was incredibly hot/humid and started nearly an hour late). Kids were pretty wiped out after their naps following the return from camp. 7/52: Pastel

This week's theme was pastel and there's not a whole lot of pastel in our house, much less with my black-eyed, black-haired Korean gal. However, she gave me about 10 minutes of cooperation in 10 degree weather and we attempted a pastel snow picture. The first one is my official pastel picture, but I included the other attempts because it was pretty darn fun. This is a new face I'm seeing often these days. By the way, she has 3 shirts underneath this dress, a pair of pajama pants and a pair of hot pink sweat pants. LOL
