Nak!

Rory hit a new milestone yesterday. She pointed to the kitchen and said, "nak!" (a.k.a. Snack). It's the first time she's asked for a snack using words. Oh, and she can now say the name of a very important body part: elbow. Not nose or mouth or belly, but elbow.

I hesitate to show you how many pages I scrapped on Saturday in case you think that I'm a horrible mom and wife, but I promise the kids were fed, all diapers changed, multiple books read aloud to them, and several pages colored. I just happened to be in a scrapping mood, and Brian was home, which is always helpful when it comes to entertaining Rory and Camden.

There's not much going on today beyond normal domestic bliss. Maybe something more exciting will happen tomorrow!

Blogging feels awkward these days. Not blogging feels a bit like abandoning an old friend. In this season of life it doesn't feel necessary to jot down every cute quip (and that's only partially because they don't say nearly as many cute things). The kiddos (even that is strange - can I still call a 12 and 9 year old kiddos?) are more likely to say "don't put that on your blog!" Rory still likes the attention, but Camden is feeling the need for privacy. But they also still love to read my words. Not a week goes by that they don't pull out blog books from previous years and pore over the pictures and words. Rory giggles and retells the stories; Camden quietly takes in the tougher subjects. Here's the truth. I have less to share because life is both busy and unexciting at the same time. Cousins, part 3 (the adult version)

So I'm notoriously bad about including adults in the picture when we're all together, and this trip was no exception. Here are the very few that include adults. Becky is always my test subject before the cousin photo shoots. At the baseball game (which was incredibly hot/humid and started nearly an hour late). Kids were pretty wiped out after their naps following the return from camp. 7/52: Pastel

This week's theme was pastel and there's not a whole lot of pastel in our house, much less with my black-eyed, black-haired Korean gal. However, she gave me about 10 minutes of cooperation in 10 degree weather and we attempted a pastel snow picture. The first one is my official pastel picture, but I included the other attempts because it was pretty darn fun. This is a new face I'm seeing often these days. By the way, she has 3 shirts underneath this dress, a pair of pajama pants and a pair of hot pink sweat pants. LOL
