Weekend

We apparently dodged a bullet yesterday! Well, dodged a tornado anyway. I did end up having to go pick up Camden early (and I'm not complaining about getting off work 2 hours early!). The storm that caused all the tornadoes in Alabama and Georgia were the ones headed our way, but they weakened and went around us.

We spent one last evening with Brian's older brother, sister-in-law and their kids on Thursday night. We had a really good time. They live in UT, which is about a 30 hour drive for us so we don't see them very often. I wish we could see them more - they're family, but also very good friends to us. All the kids played so well together! It was sad for them to say goodbye.

Camden is really keeping us hopping with these temper tantrums. Brian and I both are feeling quite discouraged about parenting in general right now. I know it's not supposed to be easy, but I don't either of us ever anticipated it being quite this hard!

I went clothes shopping this afternoon and was able to pick up a few work things. I also got Camden's Easter outfit from Children's Place. It's quite cute if I do say so myself. How do you feel about green pants? I promise Camden will be cute in them!

Blogging feels awkward these days. Not blogging feels a bit like abandoning an old friend. In this season of life it doesn't feel necessary to jot down every cute quip (and that's only partially because they don't say nearly as many cute things). The kiddos (even that is strange - can I still call a 12 and 9 year old kiddos?) are more likely to say "don't put that on your blog!" Rory still likes the attention, but Camden is feeling the need for privacy. But they also still love to read my words. Cousins, part 3 (the adult version)

So I'm notoriously bad about including adults in the picture when we're all together, and this trip was no exception. Here are the very few that include adults. Becky is always my test subject before the cousin photo shoots. At the baseball game (which was incredibly hot/humid and started nearly an hour late). Kids were pretty wiped out after their naps following the return from camp. 7/52: Pastel

This week's theme was pastel and there's not a whole lot of pastel in our house, much less with my black-eyed, black-haired Korean gal. However, she gave me about 10 minutes of cooperation in 10 degree weather and we attempted a pastel snow picture. The first one is my official pastel picture, but I included the other attempts because it was pretty darn fun. This is a new face I'm seeing often these days. By the way, she has 3 shirts underneath this dress, a pair of pajama pants and a pair of hot pink sweat pants. LOL
