Monday

So, what's new this Monday morning? I've been pretty busy at work so not too much time to think! Brian is off school for 2 weeks, which is great. Poor Camden is sick this morning. He been developing a cold over the weekend, and now it's full-blown. He spent all night coughing. He did, however, for the second night in a row, get up and go to the bathroom all on his own and didn't wake us up to take him. This is a huge victory!

I got to see Micah, Becky, and the boys on Saturday for the first time since Christmas. I can't believe they're walking. Aunt Melissa got to give Xavier his first taste of M&M's, and I was his best friend after that! It's so great to spoil them when they're not your babies - you don't have to worry about the consequences! Uncle Michael and Aunt Liz did a bit of spoiling themselves. Camden thoroughly enjoyed his blue Gatorade and the carousel ride on Saturday.

I really wanted to scrap more this weekend, but I've got so many pictures from the Gatlinburg trip that I'm almost feeling overwhelmed, trying to choose which ones to use. I thought this was a cute picture - Ashton was such a little mama to these two!

Blogging feels awkward these days. Not blogging feels a bit like abandoning an old friend. In this season of life it doesn't feel necessary to jot down every cute quip (and that's only partially because they don't say nearly as many cute things). The kiddos (even that is strange - can I still call a 12 and 9 year old kiddos?) are more likely to say "don't put that on your blog!" Rory still likes the attention, but Camden is feeling the need for privacy. But they also still love to read my words. Not a week goes by that they don't pull out blog books from previous years and pore over the pictures and words. Rory giggles and retells the stories; Camden quietly takes in the tougher subjects. Cousins, part 3 (the adult version)

So I'm notoriously bad about including adults in the picture when we're all together, and this trip was no exception. Here are the very few that include adults. Becky is always my test subject before the cousin photo shoots. At the baseball game (which was incredibly hot/humid and started nearly an hour late). Kids were pretty wiped out after their naps following the return from camp. 7/52: Pastel

This week's theme was pastel and there's not a whole lot of pastel in our house, much less with my black-eyed, black-haired Korean gal. However, she gave me about 10 minutes of cooperation in 10 degree weather and we attempted a pastel snow picture. The first one is my official pastel picture, but I included the other attempts because it was pretty darn fun. This is a new face I'm seeing often these days. By the way, she has 3 shirts underneath this dress, a pair of pajama pants and a pair of hot pink sweat pants. LOL
