Mother of the Year. Again.

This post has two purposes.

1. to make you feel a little better about yourself as a parent

2. to catch up on sharing my scrapping

So about that parent thing. I've mentioned many times I should win mother of the year. Here's just one more shining example. Camden ran a high fever Tuesday night/Wednesday. He woke up at the crack of dawn Thursday with no fever (I checked like 3 times) so we let him spend the day at the lake. Brian (who should win father of the year for this) forgot to use sunscreen on them, and both kiddos came home with their first sunburns. They usually just get browner.

So Friday when Camden complained multiple times that his sunburn was giving him a headache, I pretty much told him to suck it up (in a nice way). We went and picked strawberries (hello, hot and sweaty summer!). He still complained. I finally got smart and decided to check his temperature.

It was a mere 102 degrees. Mother. of. the. year.

It hovered around 102 the rest of Friday and all day Saturday. We took him to see the doctor Saturday, and it's just viral. Late Sunday morning, and he's still running a fever and moping around the house. At least I'm catering to his every wish and not telling him to suck it up anymore.

I can match your mom/dad of the year....
Todd let Isabella hang from the 9' basketball hoop and she let go and fell to the cement driveway.... This was on Monday and we took her to the dr on FRIDAY--- yup hairline fracture/break! We decided since she had kept her elbow at a 90 degree all week something must be wrong! :)

Just wait until I finally blog about that whole rock/ear scenario. I'm right there with you... trust me. And holy scrappin' catch-up! SO AMAZING!

If it makes you feel any better, when my brother came home from playing in a basketball game (he was about 3rd grade) complaining his foot hurt, Mom said what she always told us, "You're fine." Dad noticed he wasn't playing and was trying not to cry, took him to the Dr (with Mom saying "He's fine - bear in mind we didn't have insurance) and he came home with a cast on his leg. We've never let her live that one down.
