Oh, Christmas Tree

When I was a kid, our family always put the tree up the weekend after Thanksgiving (usually on Friday after some holiday shopping). We put in a Christmas CD, usually Mannheim Steamroller, and made Chex Mix. And now that I have my own family, we do the same thing. My current favorite Christmas music is Very Merry Christmas by Dave Barnes and Peace on Earth by Casting Crowns, although we have collected alot of Christmas music over the years.

I intentionally did not bother the kids with pictures because I didn't want to get uptight about finding the perfect shot (this decision was helped along by the fact that the tree is in a corner with no light and pictures meant trying to use my external flash which is currently the bane of my existence). We let the kiddos put most of the ornaments up until they started falling and breaking because there were so many all together. :)

Camden clearly thought this was Rory's first Christmas because he painstakingly explained and showed her what to do with the ornaments. Not that she wanted nothing to do with his help, but he stayed patient.

I HATE my external too.. every time I attach it to my camera it freaks out and wont work!
But great pics, and love the tree!!

Blogging feels awkward these days. Not blogging feels a bit like abandoning an old friend. In this season of life it doesn't feel necessary to jot down every cute quip (and that's only partially because they don't say nearly as many cute things). The kiddos (even that is strange - can I still call a 12 and 9 year old kiddos?) are more likely to say "don't put that on your blog!" Rory still likes the attention, but Camden is feeling the need for privacy. But they also still love to read my words. Cousins, part 3 (the adult version)

So I'm notoriously bad about including adults in the picture when we're all together, and this trip was no exception. Here are the very few that include adults. Becky is always my test subject before the cousin photo shoots. At the baseball game (which was incredibly hot/humid and started nearly an hour late). Kids were pretty wiped out after their naps following the return from camp. 7/52: Pastel

This week's theme was pastel and there's not a whole lot of pastel in our house, much less with my black-eyed, black-haired Korean gal. However, she gave me about 10 minutes of cooperation in 10 degree weather and we attempted a pastel snow picture. The first one is my official pastel picture, but I included the other attempts because it was pretty darn fun. This is a new face I'm seeing often these days. By the way, she has 3 shirts underneath this dress, a pair of pajama pants and a pair of hot pink sweat pants. LOL
