A Big Day

Today's a big day for Becky. She's currently in New York with my mom and Micah having her b.r.e.a.s.t. reconstruction surgery. It will take approximately 10 hours and is a huge surgery/recovery process. Micah will be updating the blog throughout the day if you'd like to follow along.

Today we're running a few errands, taking both cars in for new brakes, and attending a retirement party tonight.

Here are a few pictures from our trip to Kentucky Tuesday.

She wasn't too happy about having her picture taken on the dock.

She was so hot and tired that she camped out in the chair.

Gram tried to get the girls to play with a spider. Yes, a spider.

Rory liked sitting on the edge of the water in the sand.

Camden did so well in the water!
(typically he's a big chicken so this was alot of improvement)

They discovered that sand makes mud when wet.

Yep, mud.

She was so tired she couldn't keep her eyes open.

Blogging feels awkward these days. Not blogging feels a bit like abandoning an old friend. In this season of life it doesn't feel necessary to jot down every cute quip (and that's only partially because they don't say nearly as many cute things). The kiddos (even that is strange - can I still call a 12 and 9 year old kiddos?) are more likely to say "don't put that on your blog!" Rory still likes the attention, but Camden is feeling the need for privacy. But they also still love to read my words. Cousins, part 3 (the adult version)

So I'm notoriously bad about including adults in the picture when we're all together, and this trip was no exception. Here are the very few that include adults. Becky is always my test subject before the cousin photo shoots. At the baseball game (which was incredibly hot/humid and started nearly an hour late). Kids were pretty wiped out after their naps following the return from camp. (the adult who spent a week at camp might have been tired too) Camden had the camera and took these pictures of me and Becky, Liz, and mom. Lewis/Hale/Derby/Lemons family - you're all caught up!

7/52: Pastel

This week's theme was pastel and there's not a whole lot of pastel in our house, much less with my black-eyed, black-haired Korean gal. However, she gave me about 10 minutes of cooperation in 10 degree weather and we attempted a pastel snow picture. The first one is my official pastel picture, but I included the other attempts because it was pretty darn fun. This is a new face I'm seeing often these days. By the way, she has 3 shirts underneath this dress, a pair of pajama pants and a pair of hot pink sweat pants. LOL
