Wednesday

This has been a very slow week! I've had plenty to do at work and then had slow evenings at home each night, but Brian has had meetings or classes so it's just been me and Camden. One of my favorite things to do is read to him. We have a book titled I Love You This Much and we used to read it at night before he went to bed, but had taken a break of several months for some reason, but it's his favorite again. He will whisper the words along with me as I read and give hugs and kisses in the appropriate places in the books. I love it!

Scrapping News
If you're interested, ScrapArtist is having a 25% off sale. I picked up some really fun kits I can't wait to use. I also downloaded some new Dianne Rigdon designs to work with (see layouts below). I had entered the Peppermint Creative ultimate scrapbooker contest, but am having second thoughts. I had worked on my layout (Favorite Thing About Yourself) and have seen several other layouts that have the same topic so I can't decide if I should go ahead with it or not. We'll see.

Blogging feels awkward these days. Not blogging feels a bit like abandoning an old friend. In this season of life it doesn't feel necessary to jot down every cute quip (and that's only partially because they don't say nearly as many cute things). The kiddos (even that is strange - can I still call a 12 and 9 year old kiddos?) are more likely to say "don't put that on your blog!" Rory still likes the attention, but Camden is feeling the need for privacy. But they also still love to read my words. Not a week goes by that they don't pull out blog books from previous years and pore over the pictures and words. Rory giggles and retells the stories; Camden quietly takes in the tougher subjects. Cousins, part 3 (the adult version)

So I'm notoriously bad about including adults in the picture when we're all together, and this trip was no exception. Here are the very few that include adults. Becky is always my test subject before the cousin photo shoots. At the baseball game (which was incredibly hot/humid and started nearly an hour late). Kids were pretty wiped out after their naps following the return from camp. (the adult who spent a week at camp might have been tired too) Camden had the camera and took these pictures of me and Becky, Liz, and mom. Lewis/Hale/Derby/Lemons family - you're all caught up!

7/52: Pastel

This week's theme was pastel and there's not a whole lot of pastel in our house, much less with my black-eyed, black-haired Korean gal. However, she gave me about 10 minutes of cooperation in 10 degree weather and we attempted a pastel snow picture. The first one is my official pastel picture, but I included the other attempts because it was pretty darn fun. This is a new face I'm seeing often these days. By the way, she has 3 shirts underneath this dress, a pair of pajama pants and a pair of hot pink sweat pants. LOL
