Easter Weekend
Easter weekend was super busy around here, and if you can believe it, I didn't even buy Easter outfits for the kids. I can hardly believe it myself! But I knew it was going to be cold (turns out it was also very, very wet), we were having a 7:00 a.m. service at the river, etc.
Friday afternoon Brian and the kids dyed a few eggs - mostly because Brian loves hardboiled eggs. Hard boiled eggs happen to be my least favorite food in the world (Rory's too), but Brian and Camden love them. Easter happens to be about the only time we bother with them.
Saturday our church participated in a city event. Brian and his brother were in charge of balloon animals, and who knew they would be such a hit! It was a very long cold afternoon, but we had 3 families attend our church Sunday as a result of this event so worth every second. I was very proud of our kids because they helped out for several hours and did not complain at all. Camden hung out at the balloon table and Rory handed out event passes.
Rory was pretty proud of her red lips after eating an icee.
It wasn't all work! Cousins are here for the week, and they all got to play and participate in the egg hunt for their own age groups.
Sienna decided to give Rory a helping hand.
Camden and Cheyenne are the same age, and chatted it up while waiting their turn.
Cheyenne, I'm sorry you are completely blurry. It was not intentional. ;)
Easter Sunrise Service on the river. Yes, that is standing water you see.
It was much too wet to play outside so the kids hunted a few eggs indoors and then ran outside for one quick picture.
Two pictures actually.
Okay, three.
Because Brian's spring break and the kid's spring break did not coincide, Brian took off Monday to have a day with the kids. Just ignore that whole clean eating post I wrote because we picked up a $5 Little Caesar's pizza and surprised them with a little picnic in the park. It was our first sunny day in almost a week. And you just can blame Brian for the fuzzy picture. ;)
