Bad Day

It's 8:09 and a bad day already! My alarm didn't go off this morning. I drove the 40 miles to work in heavy, heavy rain and got here late. We're having a big dinner tonight at work for all employees and their families (that I'm in charge of) and we're supposed to be giving out t-shirts to all the kids. Called the t-shirt company this morning only to discover they had forgotten (how do you forget an order?) and so they're not printed. Good news is this guy was sooooooo upset and is going to give them to us free for our next event, but that doesn't help me out today! Oh, well. Nothing I can do about it at this point.

I've got a busy day ahead getting ready for this dinner tonight. My job involves lots of social events, and I really don't enjoy them at all. It is most definitely my least favorite part of my job!

Blogging feels awkward these days. Not blogging feels a bit like abandoning an old friend. In this season of life it doesn't feel necessary to jot down every cute quip (and that's only partially because they don't say nearly as many cute things). The kiddos (even that is strange - can I still call a 12 and 9 year old kiddos?) are more likely to say "don't put that on your blog!" Rory still likes the attention, but Camden is feeling the need for privacy. But they also still love to read my words. Not a week goes by that they don't pull out blog books from previous years and pore over the pictures and words. Rory giggles and retells the stories; Camden quietly takes in the tougher subjects. Cousins, part 3 (the adult version)

So I'm notoriously bad about including adults in the picture when we're all together, and this trip was no exception. Here are the very few that include adults. Becky is always my test subject before the cousin photo shoots. At the baseball game (which was incredibly hot/humid and started nearly an hour late). Kids were pretty wiped out after their naps following the return from camp. 7/52: Pastel

This week's theme was pastel and there's not a whole lot of pastel in our house, much less with my black-eyed, black-haired Korean gal. However, she gave me about 10 minutes of cooperation in 10 degree weather and we attempted a pastel snow picture. The first one is my official pastel picture, but I included the other attempts because it was pretty darn fun. This is a new face I'm seeing often these days. By the way, she has 3 shirts underneath this dress, a pair of pajama pants and a pair of hot pink sweat pants. LOL
