While last week's chemo recovery took me all the way back around to this week's treatment, this week's recovery has been a different story with minimal side effects. Hurray!

So because it's been an uneventful week, how about a few favorite things? I'll share mine; you share yours.

I discovered Jess Frank via Shannan Martin's blog, and I want these curtains in black (fabric designed by Jess Frank) for my living/dining area in the worst way. I think they are just made for my house. And Her colorful floral canvases speak to me. Just beautiful!

I have never watched YouTube videos in my life (except for the occasional carpool karaoke or Tonight Show), but I have been obsessed with makeup tutorials these past few weeks. Like staying up until all hours of the night watching tutorials that tell me what kind of anti-aging products I should be using to get rid of the ever-increasing and ever-present fine lines and wrinkles that are showing up at an alarming rate around my eyes and mouth. I did not know that 41 was going to hit my face so hard! I feel incredibly embarrassed to give you a few YouTube regulars: Tati, Sazan Hendrix, HotandFlashy, Emilynoel83 and many more. 

The Kurafuchi Etsy shop sells the most adorable petite jewelry. And by petite, I mean incredibly teeny tiny. These necklaces would be the perfect size for a little girl. Or a short adult with a short neck (me!). They are the perfect size to fit neatly in the small space between the top of a t-shirt and the base of the neck. These are the two I have: gold pineapple and minimalist silver delicate bead necklace.

Our Friday morning Bible Study has been such a blessing. It is a wonderful, motivating, precious thing to gather with a group of women who have a heart for God. To share blessings and burdens. I think groups like this don't come along often, and I'm so grateful to be a part of this one. Tonight, we're bringing our families into the mix and sharing a meal.

Jeni's had a flash sale on half/price pints and we might have picked up a few for rough days. Y.U.M.

I discovered Essie gel couture polish this fall and I kind of laughed when I realized this week that I have a clear preference for all shades of purple. Save your Ulta coupons for this polish because it's a little pricier than traditional bottles.

I have wondered how the Essie polish is, that is one of my favorite regular brands. I have recently discovered Julep polish thanks to Amazon Beauty Box. I heard Sazan on The Happy Hour this week and couldn't remember is she was on your list. Can't believe how tall Camden is!

I need to be better about polishing my nails! I love your colors... while I'm not necessarily a purple person in my everyday life... I am when it comes to nail colors! If you see any YouTube tutorials about getting rid of stubborn forehead wrinkles... let me know! (Or uneven skin tone. 41 has been hard here too...)

Our meeting with Dr. W today was fine. Not encouraging, but fine. I don't know why I expected better news, but I think it's hard not to hope that the bad news you hear is somehow wrong; that they've somehow made a mistake. Basically, the cancer is still the same as prior to chemo. Possibly a little larger, but he said it was hard to tell. He was glad that it had not returned to my bowel or colon (because that was a large part of my initial surgery), and my chest and lungs are still clear (apparently, this is the next place the cancer would go). It does not change my stage of cancer (still 3c), and remission is still a possibility, but he said that it would be very tough to get there.  There are several more drugs that we can try, which is good, but unfortunately they each have a success rate of only 25%. It's a little too early to be considering clinical trials because hospitals who hold the trials like for the patients to have tried the more main-stream drugs firs

Late Night Ramblings

1. Thanks to Andrea for driving me to chemo today. I'm always a little anxious on the way in and the very few times I've had to drive myself, it's been a little lonely coming home. But not today. 2. A fellow chemo patient today thought I was in my 20's. Score.  ("score" would be a term I'm borrowing from Becky ) 3. I did not wear a scarf today to chemo, and all the nurses and doctors did a double take since they didn't recognize me. So wierd. I recognize me with hair, bald, and with a little puppy fluff. 4. Dr. W. is adding Avastin , a new drug which will help prevent cancer cells from growing, to my current Gemzar routine. Good news is that it won't make me feel any worse. Bad news is that in a small percentage of patients it causes severe side effects involving blood clots, kidney failure, ulcers, and holes in your bowel. Good times. 5. Scenes from the Soccer Field

So I may not have apologized yesterday about the number of pictures, but I am definitely going to today. Because  coughcough thirty coughcough just might be excessive. And probably my family will be the only ones who look at all of them. But I don't care. :) By the way, we completely lost and did not even score a goal yet again. Rory tried really, really hard. This team was head and shoulders bigger than we are, way more coordinated than 4 year olds should be and their coach kept their A team in the entire game. Even after scoring some 15 goals. Oh, well. Rory still enjoyed herself. Which way is the goal again? Notice her position in this picture. Notice how she passed the girl next to her? No, I am not competitive at all. Not sure where the other team is. Oh, wait. There they are. See how much bigger they are? You'll notice she almost always runs with her mouth open. Either that or her tongue hang
