Meeting Rory Video

This is Brian. I'm not sure I'm supposed to be hacking into Melissa's blog, but you'll think its worth it. This 15 hour time difference has us really mixed up. She went to bed early and I'm the one staying up late on the computer. That is always the opposite way at home.

oh my word, that is absolutely priceless. She is just gorgeous and her little laugh reminds me of Isabel's. I haven't even read your other post yet but know I am SO happy for you guys. I can't believe you finally got to meet her!

Well, I have cried enough for today! The kids came in wondering what was wrong. The video was great. She is absolutely gorgeous!! I love those smiles and can't wait to do a photo shoot with her. I am so glad everything is going so well. Enjoy the rest of your time there.

Wahhhhh!! I am just bawling, That brought back so many memories..that was us on the ride to see our little boy. Congrats, she is so sweet and happy and perfect. I just love Korea, I love SWS, and this is just sooo beautiful. Congrats on your sweet little daughter. Gorgeous!

The Great Outdoors

Camden is on spring break this week and Brian was out of school yesterday so we decided to go on a little outing. Actually, I think this was my idea which is pretty surprising since it involved outdoors and a bit of hiking - two things I typically try to avoid at all costs. It's a 1.3 mile hike to the picnic table and eagle look out which doesn't seem like a long walk unless you've got a 3 year old with you who is begging for a stroller. It was also 87 (which tied the record for warmest day ever on April 5) and the first day of real humidity and the walk was in full sun so it was a bit more unpleasant than we had hoped for, but Camden and Brian had a blast. Rory and I, who apparently wilt in the sun, were just a tad miserable at times. Here's the trip in pictures. Notice Camden's protective hand in front of Rory? Tuesday's Tidbits

So Dr. Terry advised me to cut out bread, potatoes, and pasta as a way to lose a few pounds. Do donuts count? Because despite never really having been a strong donut fan before, I have developed a very strong taste for Dunkin Donuts. The powdered sugar ones filled with some sort of chocolate cream/icing. I'm sure they're very healthy. Last week was a very good reality TV week. Not only did Donald Driver win DWTS, but Phillip Phillips won AI. And then Duets started, which stars my favorite AI of all time: Kelly Clarkson. Had this black bean, corn, and avocado salad for supper last week, and it was so good. It's my goal to have salad for supper 2-3 times a week this summer. I also made this banana bread recipe which uses applesauce instead of oil and honey instead of sugar. I have to say that while Brian liked it, the texture just did not do it for me. Won't be making that again. Which is probably good since I'm not supposed to have bread. Sigh. Camd...

I'm sure I say this every Thursday, but HURRAY! I'm off work for 3 days! I love my weekends! Tomorrow is a big day for us - our first homestudy visit. I remember our first visit for Camden's adoption and how nervous I was. I don't feel any nerves at all for this one. I guess because I know what to expect this time around. We've had people looking at the house every day this week and twice on Wednesday, so I guess that's good news. Camden's had a rough couple of days. He came home from school Tuesday so clingy and whiny. Wednesday he came home HYPER and ended up getting caught up in a big temper tantrum before bed. This morning when he got up, he immediately went to the couch and said in a very pouty, mean voice, "I'm not talking to you." when Brian tried to cuddle with him. The morning proceeded to go downhill quickly! I'm not sure if he remembered being in trouble last night and it carried over into this morning or what, but he was so cran...
