The Little Munchkin in Black and White

Image
I'm finding it hard to keep up with life this week, but because my mom (not to mention my husband) start calling to check in on me if I haven't blogged in more than 24 hours here is just a quick check-in. Camden is going to a birthday party tonight so Rory, Brian, and I are going to make a quick trip to Nashville. I have a pre-surgery appointment this afternoon and we're going to sneak in supper (I've got a buy 1 get 1 free coupon to Pei Wei - woohoo!). Rory thinks we're all going on a date, which is our way of distracting her from the fact that Camden is out partying. She burst into tears when he was invited (how do we stop this behavior, by the way). Tomorrow Brian has a church meeting all morning; Rory has a soccer game and Camden has baseball game and baseball pictures. I've taken to calling Addison my little munchkin. Here she is in black and white. This one cracks me up because it looks like she's saying, "who is this psycho spe...

Tuesday's Tidbits

Dark chocolate peanut butter cups from Trader Joe's are insanely delicious. Camden has batting gloves this year, and he thinks they're the key to his success. Friday night when Gramps went over to tell him "good job" for his good hit, Camden said (before Gramps could get a word in), "that lousy hitting is all because I forgot to put my gloves on." And while it wasn't a lousy hit at all, the next one with the gloves on was pretty amazing. Instead of celebrating Easter weekend, our days revolved around those 6 kittens. For 72 hours we fed them every 3 hours, and did you know kittens don't know how to pee or poop? That means you have to "stimulate" their bowels every time they eat. It was a whole lot of time with kittens. We found a family to foster them until they're old enough to be adopted so we gave them all baths, fed them one last time, and delivered them to their new home last night. While Brian and I silently celebrated in...

Blue Eyes

One of these days I might get back to posting pics of my own kids again (ha!), but for now, it's all about Addison. Michael, Elizabeth, and Addison came over last night for a while, and it's the first chance I've had to take her picture outdoors (and we all know outdoor light is SO much better than dark indoor pictures). It was a little breezy so we only managed a few minutes, but I just adore these pics. The big question since she was born is if she were going to have the Hale blue eyes. And, yes, I think she is. I was not on Addison duty last week, and I feel like she changed tremendously in one week's time! Hanging out with Uncle Brian. And I was just mentally congratulating myself on not stressing over Easter pics (or clothes) this year. I grabbed a few snapshots, no perfect location and bad lighting. Of course, now that I've uploaded them, I'm not feeling so laid back about it, but whatever. P.S. Any of my photographer friends w...

Eventful

Well, it's certainly been an eventful couple of days for the Lewis family. Thursday we got the news that my CA125 is still stable, and I get to have another 3 months of no chemo. Frenchie, our cat, also had kittens for the first time. Camden, who is such an animal lover, was ecstatic. He kept saying, "Frenchie is a mother!" Friday was a day off school for Brian and Camden so we spent the day together, had lunch at 5 Guys, frozen yogurt at Sweet CeCe's, visited Costco for the first time, and Camden won his first baseball game of the year Friday night. Unfortunately, when we returned home from the baseball game, Frenchie was missing. Her kitties were snuggled up - it was actually as if Frenchie had rearranged the blankets to protect them. Brian spent several hours searching for Frenchie and then made a trip to Walmart at midnight (anyone remember we don't actually live near a Walmart?) in search of kitty formula. At 6 a.m. he got up and took Rory to Tractor...

A Bad Feeling

I've had a bad gut feeling all morning long. I love it when I'm wrong. :) My CA125 is still 14. WOOHOO!

Based on my texts, emails, and FB messages, everyone else is waiting on pins and needles right along with me to hear my CA125 results. Thanks for the prayers and support! I promise to update just as soon as I know anything. My appointment yesterday went really well. Dr. W was very pleased with me and said he will be surprised if my CA125 comes back elevated. I feel encouraged, but there's always this fine line between staying calm without getting my hopes up so that I won't crash too hard if the news is bad. Like I've mentioned before, I'm getting pretty good at taking one day at a time and not worrying about things before they happen. Dr. W did schedule me for minor surgery April 23. He's hoping to go in and cut out the scar tissue that's been bothering me for months now. I feel like a pro at surgery by now, and this should be out-patient so I'm not too concerned. Really hoping this will finally take care of the constant abscess and that I will be ...
