Texas Pics, part 1
So last Friday night before we left for Texas, I had the worst afternoon/evening since early on in my treatment. I spent hours on the floor crying and praying that I would feel better by morning. Thankfully, I woke up not exactly feeling 100%, but at least able to travel. The flights were easy, despite a 1-hour delay on the runway, missing our connecting flight, and then not having luggage and waiting around for hours. :)
People avoid kids like the plague so Brian and I each had an extra seat in our row.
Yes, this is just about how excited she was.
I mentioned the amazing fries and burger yesterday, but it bears mentioning again. So good! We spent Friday night walking around downtown McKinney, which is historic, beautiful, and so alive, full of people.
Sunday, we got to experience Clearview church. Brian did a little speaking, and I played the piano. It was bittersweet to be there because we have wanted so badly to be a part of this new adventure. I love this picture because I think it portrays Brian and Randall so well - Brian laughing at something Randall said.
Next up was a pumpkin patch with the Wrights and some of the church people.
I wish I had a better picture of this. Rory latched onto Joshua, who is a very patient teenage boy. :)
This farm had goats, sheep, long-horned steers (I could never break through the people to get a shot of them).
The hayride was loads of fun, although the lighting was horrific as you'll notice. :)
Camden and Joshua
Randall and Collette
You might recognize these two people.
Rory made some new friends.
Rootbeer was the drink of choice.
Camden was a bit of a pill for parts of the weekend. And it's partially his parent's fault. We seem to always fail to recognize how difficult the thought of transition is for him, and he really, really, really is scared of the move to Texas. Maybe next time we'll remember and try to do a better job of preparing him.
