Date Night

Life is great. It's almost 11:00, and I'm in sweats in front of the computer home alone! So you don't think I've been lazy this morning, let me just tell you I have folded and put away 4 loads of laundry, and my house is almost spotless. Of course, the clean house part I didn't really do this morning - it's just leftover clean from having it ready for people to look at it as we try to sell.

Camden is at school today until early afternoon, then he'll be heading to Gram and Gramps' house to spend the night. Brian and I are going out to eat and to see a movie. It's so nice to have grandparents close by.

Two layouts this morning. The first is using a picture from Liz's wedding (hope you like it, Liz!). I think it turned out very soft and pretty. The second page is using pictures from Valentine's Day last year.

Blogging feels awkward these days. Not blogging feels a bit like abandoning an old friend. In this season of life it doesn't feel necessary to jot down every cute quip (and that's only partially because they don't say nearly as many cute things). The kiddos (even that is strange - can I still call a 12 and 9 year old kiddos?) are more likely to say "don't put that on your blog!" Rory still likes the attention, but Camden is feeling the need for privacy. But they also still love to read my words. Not a week goes by that they don't pull out blog books from previous years and pore over the pictures and words. Rory giggles and retells the stories; Camden quietly takes in the tougher subjects. Cousins, part 3 (the adult version)

So I'm notoriously bad about including adults in the picture when we're all together, and this trip was no exception. Here are the very few that include adults. Becky is always my test subject before the cousin photo shoots. At the baseball game (which was incredibly hot/humid and started nearly an hour late). Kids were pretty wiped out after their naps following the return from camp. 7/52: Pastel

This week's theme was pastel and there's not a whole lot of pastel in our house, much less with my black-eyed, black-haired Korean gal. However, she gave me about 10 minutes of cooperation in 10 degree weather and we attempted a pastel snow picture. The first one is my official pastel picture, but I included the other attempts because it was pretty darn fun. This is a new face I'm seeing often these days. By the way, she has 3 shirts underneath this dress, a pair of pajama pants and a pair of hot pink sweat pants. LOL
