Rambling

I missed Tuesday's Tidbits and I've got multiple things rattling around in my mind so I'm just going to ramble today.

This list of 30 things only an introvert will understand? Oh, so true. And probably why I like to blog so much - you know, sharing with people without actually having to interact with them in person.

Brian and I both got brand new iPhone 5s yesterday, and until our cases arrive this afternoon, I am terrified to even touch it. Before yesterday, Brian has been using the iPhone 3 so this is a HUGE upgrade for him.

And those brand new phones? Completely free. Hello, being on staff at a non-profit church. Hello, tax exempt!

I have been convicted and inspired by Flower Patch Farmgirl's story for the last year or so. And when I saw this video, I might have cried through it.

Today is World Ovarian Cancer Day. I hate cancer.

I let Rory take pictures with my phone the other day, and I found this one later. Rory taking a picture of me taking a picture of Addison, who also has a toy camera in her hand. Pics from my real camera to come later.

One of the sweetest little families you'll ever meet attend our church. They are the couple who were baptized the same night as Rory back in November. The husband/father, Daniel, is currently deployed to Afghanistan. He sent these certificates, signed by the pilot and co-pilots of these helicopters, to our kids along with two small American flags that were in the aircraft. This is no joke, friends. He is serving our country, flying on missions, and sending us little pieces of history. The kids were so excited to get these, and you better believe they're going in our 2014 scrapbook.

So I rarely do a crafty project. If I find one I like, I usually pin it and force my mom to do it when she visits. But this one was mostly digital so I tackled it on my own. You can find complete directions here, and the supplies I used here.

This is the first morning this week that I have been home, and I find myself looking around at all the dust, messy floors, piled up laundry, etc. and feeling a little out of sorts. I figure I can look at it two ways. Number one, the house is a mess and I have failed desperately in completing (or even starting) my domestic duties. Number two, life has been full and busy enough that I haven't had time to do something as trivial as cleaning house.

Not that cleaning house is trivial, because, let's be honest here. It's how I spend half my life, and when it's not clean, I start to feel cranky and twitchy. Nothing cheers me up more than clutter-free kitchen counters. So now that I've played a bit, read my Bible a bit, drank an extra cup of coffee, it's time to pull myself together and get some work done.

"Look among the nations, and see; wonder and be astounded. For I am doing a work in your days that you would not believe if told." Habakkuk 1:5
