Bangs

I don't know about you, but many times I feel very alone in my day-to-day life. No one talks about how hard it is to be a wife and mother, to keep the peace, to struggle with financial worries, not to mention the health worries. Last night I read this blog post by Karen Russell, who just tells it like it is. I think I'm fairly honest around here, but not sure I've been quite as honest as her post.

The truth is that we're experiencing difficult days in the Lewis household. Kids who are bickering non-stop and parents who are determined to find a way to stop it. Broken computers and empty bank accounts. Miscommunication. A night this week that ended with all of us in tears at some point.

But we're also doing 30 days of gratitude and listing our blessings. At the top of my list is continued good health despite all the doctor's visits. And the gift of two healthy children and a husband who loves us and works hard. Uncontrollable giggles during prayer time before bed. Our blossoming church. Focusing on the good really does help offset the bad.

If you ever think you're alone in struggling with the day to day things, with finances, with parenting, please know that you're not. Maybe if we were all a little more transparent and less worried about presenting a beautiful view of our life, we'd feel a little less alone in our struggles.

One of those good things? Bangs. Seriously, could she be any cuter? I've decided this might be her hairstyle the rest of her life. Camden says "she was born for these bangs." (so funny)

(I don't have my regular photo editing software and calibration is different on Brian's laptop, but hopefully these aren't too wonky.)

Seriously. We are in the same boat. I love the "cold war" post. I read it the other day, and laughed, because we do the same thing, I'm just afraid to blog about it.

You are definitely not alone, I struggle day to day as well, although I don't have the bickering children part. ;)

I LOVE Rory's bangs! She looks so incredibly different, although maybe part of it is those adult teeth coming in, too. Absolutely adorable. I've been wanting Briar to have bangs again for awhile, we may just have to do it soon after seeing this!!
So what does rory think about the bangs? I love the hair back in a ponytail with the bangs out of course!

I haven't read the linked to post but we are there with you!!!!

Thanks for the cold war post. I struggle with being more transparent and real, not just on the blog but in real life. That's something the Lord has really been working on me about recently.

Love love love Rory's bangs! Cant believe how much they change her looks. Such a beautiful girl!!!
Oh friend, right there with you. (Although I am the giving end of the cold war… usually.) This resonated in so many ways for me. Thank you.

(And I adore the bangs!!! And not wonky at all!)
