Snapshot #8

(I had this ready to go before we went out of town but forgot to push publish so it's a little after the fact.)

Outside my window: a very full garden overflowing with squash, zucchini and cucumbers (tomatoes are just getting started)

I am thinking: about how if you read this blog, you probably think I'm a talker, but if you know me in real life, you know I'm much more of an introvert than I might seem online.

I am thankful for: my calm quiet bedroom. I've never been one to love my bed/bedroom (mostly because I've had sleep issues for longer than I can remember), but our bedroom in the new house is pretty and roomy and quiet and calm and soothing anf cheerful all at the same timt, and I have thoroughly enjoyed retreating to it this summer.

I am wondering: how the George Zimmerman case is going to end up.

Last 3 purchases: I *might* have taken advantage of the Matilda Jane sale this week and bought 2 dresses and 1 pair of tights. Thank you, 50% off sale.

Dinner plans: Not sure, but if I know our West Virginia family, it might involve a campfire and hotdogs.

Future plans I'm looking forward to: family visit to WV. And the first day of school. (Don't judge. And I'm sorry to my husband and the other teachers out there.)

Kid funny: Rory cannot figure out the whole Lewis/Hale side of the family thing. She wants to know why Liz (my sister) isn't coming with us to West Virginia (to visit Brian's side of the family).

I am reading: No books, but a few blog posts. I Just Want by Lisa Bonchek Adams,  10 Tips to Simplify Your Life made me want to read the book, The Convincing Case For Sending Your Kids Outside to Play Alone, and finally for laughs That Time I Was on the Today show by Jen Hatmaker.

In the kitchen: Not much! We spent the week cleaning it out in preparation for being gone for the majority of the next 2 weeks.

Watching: finishing up the current season of Revenge and I'm filling the void of 8 months of no Downton Abbey with Upstairs, Downstairs

On my frequent playlist: White Flag by Passion. It is SO good.

Snacking on: the sour candy Runts. I know. It's sugar and candy and bad, but that sour/sweet thing is so good.

Rest-of-the-day-plans: We're on the road (or will be by the time you read this); the plan was to leave at 4:30 a.m. Typically takes us about 8 hours to drive to Beckley.

Cute kiddos.

Aaahhh, Downton. I finally watched all 3 seasons, courtesy of our library, in about a month. Now I can hardly wait for season 4. I'll have to check out upstairs, downstairs. Is it good?
I love these posts of yours. LOVE.

PS - What color gray is that on your walls?! I feel like I asked you this before, but now I'm ready to paint. For real.
