Tuesday's Tidbits

I have officially turned into the person who uses her iPad and iPhone simultaneously. Because I'm clearly not patient enough to wait through a 30 second commercial on HuluPlus.

Apparently, my 6 year old daughter cut her hair "accidentally" at some point last week. Not enough that I've noticed a gap, but enough that she picked it up off the floor and put it in the trashcan. This piece of breaking news came out during children's church Sunday.

It is June 17, and I have still not made up a Summer List for this year. #feelslikeabigmomfail

I hate hashtags. Nowhere near witty enough to use them.

Because I'm sure you're dying to know, I managed to finish Week 5 of Couch to 5K and ran for a solid 20 minutes on Friday. I'm a little up in the air as to whether or not I can continue with the running thing. My feet ache so badly. Ever since my first round of chemo, they've had aches and pains, but this running has magnified that pain to serious. After I finished the run on Friday, I haven't gotten back on the treadmill (although it's on the schedule for this morning), and my feet feel much better. We'll see. I have put in a solid 6-7 weeks of hard work, and I don't want to lose ground just because of my feet.

I had definitely forgotten how much extra laundry there is in the summer. Two kids prone to sweating can dirty up a whole lot of clothes in one week.

Father's Day was maybe slightly anti-climatic since Brian's present was the grill we didn't get to buy. Ironically enough, even the card I bought Brian referred to the grill. However, we discovered that the fire pit actually works really well as a charcoal grill in times of emergency, and so Father's Day was saved. Brian requested steak, some form of potatoes and rolls. Now, we've pretty much cut rolls and all potatoes out of our diet and I didn't realize how much the family missed them until they raved all. day. long. about the roasted red potatoes and Sister Schubert's rolls we had with lunch. ;) This strawberry yogurt bundt cake with homemade whipped cream was also a pretty big hit.

. . . although I think these taken Saturday represent Father's Day in truer fashion.

(Note the crazy eye Brian has? It is actually MUCH worse in person than in photos. He saw an ophthalmologist today and they lanced it and scheduled him for outpatient surgery Friday. Ouch!)

Later that evening it's was Rory's turn for some one-on-one time, and she chose HeadBandz.

Way to go on the running! That's awesome! #veryproudbloggingfriend :)
Happy (belated) Father's Day Brian! I must say, that unicorn pic is fabulous.
Happy Father's Day to Brian. (The unicorn) :)

I am so proud of you! That is a HUGE accomplishment! Do you have a running or sports store nearby? You may just need inserts for the pain??
