Tuesday's Tidbits

I am not admitting to anything, but it's possible that I've created a homemade version of Sonic's peanut butter fudge shake (Brian's favorite): 2 cups milk, 2 cups vanilla ice cream, 2 Tbs peanut butter, 2 Tbs cacao (or cocoa powder if that's what you have). Blend until smooth and creamy. Not that I'm admitting to eating (drinking?) one of these, but you might want to give it a try.

So I guess you all know that Google Reader will be no more as of July. I use Reeder on my iPad, and everyone keeps telling me how great Feedly is, but so far nothing compares to Reeder (which uses Google Reader as it's feed). I keep putting off making any change in hopes that Google Reader will change its mind and stick around. Maybe I just haven't discovered that Feedly can keep everything in list order the same way as Reeder? Suggestions?

Dr. W's office called me yesterday to move my July 2 appointment to July 30 because Dr. W is out of the office for medical reasons. I'm not gonna lie. I'm a bit nervous to put off my appointment for another month considering these stomach problems I've been having. My original cancer diagnosis was discovered as a result of stomach issues, and even though I've seen my PCP, I find myself more anxious than usual. In fact, I managed to have myself almost a full-blown anxiety attack last night, which completely caught me by surprise. Feeling much better this morning!

If you're interested in some easy, healthy, summer lunch recipes, I posted some here.

Great article on Christianity Today about Angelina Jolie and her recent surgery.

If this happened, it would make my year. In case you didn't know, Friday Night Lights is my all-time favorite TV show. I can't even tell you how much I love it. Which is weird because I hated football when that show first started. Maybe we can blame Tim Riggins and Jason Street for my current love of football.

Speaking of football, Tim Tebow is joining Tom Brady the Patriots. I happen to love both Tim and Tom. Brian knows all about it.

The Terrible Tragedy of a Healthy Eater - completely funny blog post about making healthy choices. And after months and months, I'm still in the panic stage.

And a few pictures from when the cousins were all in town. And reason #1 why I can't possibly share all the fun pictures from that week because, well, this is only one afternoon's worth.

Eating ice cream is serious work (you knew there'd be ice cream, right?).

Surprisingly enough, Rory was the first one done eating.

Camden was so excited to have cousins around, he barely ate at all. Photo bombed William instead.

This girl seriously wanted off the deck and on the trampoline with the big kids.

Look at her face . . .

. . . when she saw this guy come around the corner.

Uncle Brian's lap is not all that fun.

Maybe he's okay after all.

Daddy has much better tricks, though.

She's so fickle. Now she hates Camden.

She'll be big enough for the trampoline in a year or three.

Our night around the fire pit listening to the screams of laughing cousins came to an end when someone got hurt. It was Rory. Of course.

I am totally in denial about Reader going bye-bye. Complete denial. Panic should hit in about a week.

And this looks like a very fun night on the back deck. Until the tears hit, of course!
I started using "The Old Reader" and like it just as much as Google Reader.

I have the same feelings about Google Reader. I've tried Feedly and Bloglovin but nothing compares. :(
