A Sick Girl

Rory woke up this morning with a 101 degree fever. I shouldn't be surprised since for the last couple of weeks she's had the same nasty pneumonia-type cough she had a couple of months ago. In fact if she wasn't significantly better by tomorrow, I was planning to take her in to see Dr. H. Now that she's running a fever, I'll definitely be taking her. I'd call myself the worst mom on the planet again, but until this morning there's been no fever and despite the cough, she's been full steam ahead.

After a full day alone with her yesterday (that's a story for another day) and with the whole day stretching out in front of us today, I've seen my share of Tinkerbell and princess movies so I've resorted to sharing my iPad. In our family, kids only get the iPad in emergency situations and I'm thinking this definitely qualifies.

Becky and I decided that we were going to commit to the monthly favorite page about ourselves challenge (via Nettio Designs). I'm never a fan of scrapping about myself, but since I'd love to know these kinds of things about my own mom, I'm doing it. And while I may have scrapped this particular page twice in order to get it just right, I'm happy with the results. Make-up free face and all.

Blogging feels awkward these days. Not blogging feels a bit like abandoning an old friend. In this season of life it doesn't feel necessary to jot down every cute quip (and that's only partially because they don't say nearly as many cute things). The kiddos (even that is strange - can I still call a 12 and 9 year old kiddos?) are more likely to say "don't put that on your blog!" Rory still likes the attention, but Camden is feeling the need for privacy. But they also still love to read my words. Cousins, part 3 (the adult version)

So I'm notoriously bad about including adults in the picture when we're all together, and this trip was no exception. Here are the very few that include adults. Becky is always my test subject before the cousin photo shoots. At the baseball game (which was incredibly hot/humid and started nearly an hour late). Kids were pretty wiped out after their naps following the return from camp. (the adult who spent a week at camp might have been tired too) Camden had the camera and took these pictures of me and Becky, Liz, and mom. Lewis/Hale/Derby/Lemons family - you're all caught up!

7/52: Pastel

This week's theme was pastel and there's not a whole lot of pastel in our house, much less with my black-eyed, black-haired Korean gal. However, she gave me about 10 minutes of cooperation in 10 degree weather and we attempted a pastel snow picture. The first one is my official pastel picture, but I included the other attempts because it was pretty darn fun. This is a new face I'm seeing often these days. By the way, she has 3 shirts underneath this dress, a pair of pajama pants and a pair of hot pink sweat pants. LOL
