Scan Today

A nurse told me recently to look at a CT scan as a chance to see the results of all the hard work (chemo) I've put in over the last 6 months. She's the nurse I know the least, which means she doesn't realize that up to this point, scans don't generally show results of all the "work" I've put in. It's been 22 months, approximately 7 scans, and a whole lot of "no change." Obviously, since the more serious alternative is growth, I can be thankful (mostly) for no change, but we have been praying more than ever that I would get good results this week.

And, clearly, some of you have been praying as well because I feel very calm and even slept all night last night for the first time in at least 2 weeks. Not only that, but after one last hurrah this weekend, my sore throat seems to finally be on its way out. Thank goodness for a little sleep and feeling better!

The two scriptures that popped up in my daily reader this morning were "And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful." (Col. 3:15) and "Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus." (I Thess. 5:18)

Brian took off work to take me for my scan today as he usually does and we're planning to try to enjoy a free day today. It includes some fasting and a 16 oz. guzzling of the thickest, nastiest liquid you can imagine in prep for the scan, but it's still a day together free of responsibilities.

I'll be back to update as soon as I have news. Thank you for the sweet comments, thoughts, and prayers, friends.

Praying for peace to continue to be the mood of the day AND that results will be supernaturally encouraging!
