Who Needs a Good Laugh?

Becky flew in to spend the weekend with me, and we met up Friday after my Neulasta shot. The Wig Shoppe came highly recommended by several of my fellow chemo patients, and I'd been wanting to try it out. Not so much because I really wanted a wig, but because I was interested in having someone who knew what they were doing give me advice on scarves and possibly to have a good laugh at the wigs and at least try them out. I knew that Becky would be the perfect partner for this trip.

Up first is this one. Ummm, no.

After a few other missteps that we did not even bother to photograph, this wig came along. I have to say that it's the one most like me. I think we all agreed that it looks like me and was fairly realistic looking. It's also very expensive. Hair don't come cheap, people!

This one was Camden's favorite, although obviously it is way too much hair for me.

This one is actually cuter than the picture. It's just a half set of hair that is made to go under hats and scarfs. It was fairly cute and very close to my own pre-cancer hair.

And how's this for attractive? LOL
(By the way, that blonde hair behind me will set you back $3,000!)

I did pick up two cute scarves that were much nicer than anything I've found before, and I'm pretty sure I'll go back for another one or two. Whether or not I actually shell out any money for a wig is still to be determined, but it's not looking good. While I find myself longing to look normal, I don't know that a wig is going to do it for me.

When we got home, we pulled out the free wig the poor American Cancer Society employee forced on me, and then the laughs really began.

On Becky, not so bad, right? It actually looks like her hair.

So how did it turn into such a mop on me?

And this? Seriously? (thank you, Liz, for putting up with your 2 older sisters as they played)

Even Brian channeled his inner fashion diva and got in on the fun.

And Michael kind of rocks it like a teenage boy.

Thank you, American Cancer Society, for endless fun.

Those were great! I think of you often and pray that your family will come out stronger on the other side of this storm.
the wigs at the store really were nice! Especially the one you liked. But I guess good wigs do come at a price!! I love how everyone tried on the "bad" wig. It's always good to get a laugh out of stuff like this!

I agree that the short hair is more 'you', but the long hair makes you look like Candice (Stringham)!

LOVE Brian and Michael in the wig - they could start a band!

Glad you were able to get out with your sisters and have fun!

Love it! Can you dye it? I think if it was darker it would work much better :)
