새해 복 많이 받으세요 Happy New Year

Happy Lunar New Year! I'd like to say we're celebrating, but we're pretty bad at these holidays. My goal for the year is to remember Children's Day. Sad, I know. We did have a little family outing last week that we deemed a Lunar New Year celebration, and we're eating Korean food tomorrow night. At a Chinese restaurant, but Korean food. :)

Day 2 from the Joy of Love class was to document "how they look" so Rory and I headed outside (in the freezing cold) to try to take a quick picture. I originally planned to use this picture I happened to snap as she was beginning to give me the look that says, "are you serious?"

But then when she fell and started laughing, I dropped to the ground and snapped this one to use instead. Cause this is how she looks - always giggling.

I was sneaky with these pictures - we were not dressed for the day. I just plopped the hat on her head so I didn't have to fix her hair and she put her coat on over her p.j.'s. These days if I promise she can do some running around, she's pretty happy to pause every once in a while for pictures.

I tend to be drawn to color pictures, but I made my own little black and white conversion and was pretty proud of myself.

f2.2, 1/3200ss, ISO800 - clearly, I had my settings messed up. The ISO should be much lower, which would have also resulted in a lower shutter speed.

I love that photo in black and white. I've had some wiggy settings myself lately. I need to start paying attention to what I am doing!

And, I'll remind you of Children's Day... ok!? ;-)

That is awesome! My pic for day 2 wasn't nearly as good.
