Welcome to November, friends. We're already halfway through the month which seems impossible. Also, a bit melancholy since November and December are my two favorite months of the year and I don't want to speed through even a little bit of it. It's hard to know where to pick up since I have been so negligent in this space for much of 2019.
Did I mention Brian backed up the van smashing our Yaris into smithereens? Should we talk about the night Rory didn't tell me about the overflowing toilet until said water was inches deep? Or how she brought me a hand towel to soak up the inches of water? Or how about the toilet water dripping through the ceiling? I say we should move right along!
1. I'll start with Rory's first overnight youth group trip last weekend. A friend texted me over the weekend with the words, "How is she old enough to be here?" and that sums it up. Brian, Camden, and I went to see the new biopic Harriet; we all highly recommend the movie.…
I realize this will sound completely sappy, but do you ever come to the end of a day and just feel blessed? Today was one of those days for me. I woke up feeling so good, something I took for granted a mere 6 months ago. I actually didn't have bags under my eyes for the first time in months (and I am so not kidding when I say that). We went to Rory's soccer game bright and early, enjoyed seeing her team run around like little wild people. A friend stopped by with fruit and chocolate (it doesn't get any better than that) and fun gift cards. Thank you, Linda!
We spent the afternoon at my sister and brother-in-law's house with their family and some dear friends. There was good food, really beautiful weather. I listened to the kids laugh, watched them run, drank some rootbeer from a glass bottle. Even something as simple as watching The Sing-Off while I used the treadmill this evening felt good.
The day was blessed from start to finish.
This week's theme was pastel and there's not a whole lot of pastel in our house, much less with my black-eyed, black-haired Korean gal. However, she gave me about 10 minutes of cooperation in 10 degree weather and we attempted a pastel snow picture. The first one is my official pastel picture, but I included the other attempts because it was pretty darn fun.
This is a new face I'm seeing often these days.
By the way, she has 3 shirts underneath this dress, a pair of pajama pants and a pair of hot pink sweat pants. LOL
