Weekend Wrap-up

We met Joy, Ellis, and Sumner Friday morning for a playdate, and the kids had a great time. Well, Camden did - Rory spent all her time going from parent to parent and I spent my time bringing her back. After playtime and lunch, I got to shop a bit and the kids cooperated fairly well. Dillards was having an additional 40% off their clearance and I found 2 pairs of Born shoes for only $20 as well as a couple of things for the kids.

Saturday the kids played so well together, but it was the rough and tumble kind of play. They raced from one end of the house to the other ALL day long screaming at the top of their lungs. I'm glad they had a good time, but I'm thinking I can't handle that every day! :) I also went with Mayme to a consignment sale and bought a few things - the best being this sit and spin. Rory LOVES it!

Sunday marked one year since we arrived home with Rory. Typically for Camden we've had a meal, a cake (and requisite picture with the cake) and then watched our coming home videos. Because yesterday was Sunday, Brian was busy and things were a bit hectic so we didn't do that. I've already decided we're recreating the day Tuesday in order to get the traditions in.

We saw a few signs that Rory is coming into her Terrible Two's. She typically takes "no" fairly well; flounces off, but forgets why she's upset very quickly. Well, last week if you told her no, she'd have this dramatic little fit, flounce off to her room, and spend the next 10-15 minutes dramatically crying. We also had LOTS of tattling from her, which is not alot of fun (and isn't 2.5 a little early to start that?).

Brian had some extra work to do at school today so he left the house by 6:00 this morning! This is his last week before spring break - we'll all be happy to have him home for a little while. The kids and I are grocery shopping today, and I'm kind of dreading it. They've been worse and worse at the whole grocery shopping thing (Camden especially) and I've got a big list. Hopefully we'll all survive with our sanity intact.

Here are two pictures from yesterday.
