Cupcakes

The kids (okay, me too) had so much fun picking out cupcakes yesterday. If you live in Nashville, you should definitely visit GiGi's cupcakes. They taste good, but most of the fun is choosing a cupcake and then looking at the cute bakery box all afternoon waiting to eat them. :) We ate cupcakes and then watched some of our video footage from Korea. Rory kept saying, "I watch Kia too." Camden was really interested in all of the Seoul footage we took and it's good for him to see it.

Mine and Camden's choice

The kids chose this one for Brian

Rory's choice
(I'm pretty sure it was the sprinkles that caught her eye)

She sure enjoyed that cupcake!

Our day had an exciting start. I locked us out of the house at 8:30 (you know, when it was still in the 20's). Brian is the only one who has an extra key (we're gonna remedy that quickly) so he had to find someone to watch his 4th grade class while brought me a key. The delay (plus a wrong interstate choice on my part) made us 30 minutes late for Rory's hearing test, but they let us still come in. The test was inconclusive again so they want us to come back in 6 months for a third try. Apparently, they've ruled out everything but mild hearing loss, but she keeps failing the same frequency so they want us to try again. They said it's still possible that it's because she's a toddler, easily distracted, etc. And we've certainly seen no evidence of hearing loss. We'll see I guess.

I made the mistake of letting Rory have a small drink of my coffee one time last week (okay, maybe more than once), and now she follows me around the house, "peas kashi mommy peas." How to explain that mommy did that in a moment of weakness and has no intention of letting her 2 year regularly drink straight caffeine. Not to mention there's a slight backwash problem involved.

Oh, a shopping story I meant to blog about earlier - We had the quirkiest sales clerk last week in the Dillards shoe department. I should have known something was off when she tried to sell me a "boot-boot." She continued to talk about the "girl-girl" and the "dress-dress" and was I ready to "pay-pay." Seriously, she talked like this. It was all I could do to keep from laughing. I'm just glad Camden was in his own StarWars world and didn't pick up on it.
