Almost D-Day

Even if we were stuck in the house again all day, yesterday was a pretty good day. The kids played together pretty well. Last night, however, I wanted to take an uninterrupted shower for once so I left the kids with Brian. Rory just sobbed and sobbed and sobbed to the point of hyperventilation while I was gone. She has been much more comfortable and less clingy the last couple of weeks, but not last night. She didn't move from my lap the rest of the evening.

Brian's birthday is this weekend so I think we'll make a cake today and I'll let the kids help. His favorite is pound cake and I found a good recipe. I think we'll also start making some Christmas candy. I found this recipe that I want to try.

I think we're going to go out to eat tonight for Brian's birthday. Actually, that's just an excuse - I have got to get out of the house! :) And you can't really beat Logan's 2 meals for $13.99 plus $2.99 kid meals.

Tomorrow is the Christmas parade. We had so much fun when we went last year - Camden LOVED it. I'm hoping Rory loves it as well and isn't too scared by the loud noises.

Tomorrow is also D-Day for my hair. I am finally getting it cut after growing it out for 19 months. I am donating it to Pantene's Beautiful Lengths program. It will be used toward a wig for a woman or child with cancer. I'll admit that while I've been so excited to get it cut, the closer it gets, the more nervous I am about it.

Camden has been cracking us up with his prayers this week. Here are a few things that have come out of this mouth.

1. "Please be with Barack Obama as he thinks what he's thinking."
2. "Help Uncle Matt to get a good job so he can make lots of money."
3. "Thanks for not sending a fire, tornado or hurricane to our house today. Let's keep it that way. Amen."

The new big phrase at our house is "No, Mama do." Rory has decided that she doesn't want Brian or Camden to do anything for her. This is a new experience for me - those words sure never came out of Camden's mouth!

(1) Please do not post any more recipes - I made the cake balls and gained 2 pounds...LOL!! :)

(2) PLEASE post before/after pics of your haircut - how awesome you are donating your hair! What an inspiration!

(3) LOVE Camden's prayer - it amazes me daily what kids are thinking.

Have a great weekend and have fun at the parade - Christmas is almost here!! :)
