Tuesday

Our day turned out to be longer than planned yesterday, but it was good to get everything done at once! It also resulted in an unplanned trip to Pei Wei, which I love and haven't been to in a very long time. I found the cutest little bakery, Gigi's Cupcakes. It is seriously cute, and the cupcakes look amazing! I picked up cupcakes for two of my friends who recently had birthdays, and now I want to go back.

Brian and I were both able to see Christian yesterday, and he is doing so well. As I waited my turn (there can only be 2 in the room at once), there were several other family members of a baby who is in the same wing of the hospital, and I just can't imagine how difficult it must be to deal with your child being ill. I saw several other young ones out and about in the halls, clearly sick. It is such a reminder that all of my petty worries and problems are just so not important.

After our long day yesterday, Rory had a rough night. She was up over and over again just sobbing and at one point, just cried in my arms for about 15 minutes. She finally settled down and slept the rest of the night. I was still awake at 1:30, so took two Tylenol PM and slept until 8 this morning! We went to see a baby donkey at a friend's house, and the kids liked feeding them apples. Well, Rory liked it more than Camden. He was too worried that the donkeys would bite his fingers off!

I'm working on laundry in between reading Rory dozens of books (it's all that is keeping her happy today) while Brian and Camden are off cutting wood for our stove this winter. It's hard to imagine winter since it is October 14, and the temperature is still 85. I am so ready for cooler weather!

Those cupcakes look so cute! I think Noah & Camden are going to get along well. Noah would have been worried about the donkey biting his fingers off, too. He tends to be a little cautious!

The weather can turn cool down there AFTER we come. It's already freezing here, and I'm looking forward to some warm temps. ;-)
